This is a completely normal system.
At the end of each month the payroll office will go through each person's hours, sick pay, holiday pay, overtime and so on. This takes a few days to sort out and set up the correct payments with the bank, so the pay will go in on the 7th.0 -
I'd walk out and seek legal advice.0

I get paid on the 28th when I started I started on the 23rd. They paid me some money on the 28th then deducted of off next months pay as it would be process properly.
I work say the 1sy June to the 30th and get paid the 28th for that month they give you additional days as a presumption your working them days.
You will get
Paid from 19th to the 30tj and get paid on the 7th. next month they will pay you for hours worked from 1st to the end of the month. Your not working a week in hand. Your getting paid monthly it's just that company's cut of Time is before . MMortgage free wannabe

The pay day is obviously the 7th of the month for the whole company.
You will be paid on the first possible 7th of month after starting the job, and every 7th of month thereafter.
A week in hand is applied to waged rather than salaried jobs usually. On a salary you need to look at it over the whole month, not on a week by week basis.

Well it's not "how i want to see it" it's just a fact.
When i started i was told there was no working in hand, etc. Anywhere else when ive started ive been paid at the end of the month, for that month, so if i started 15th i got paid 30th for 15th-30th, here its the 7th for the previous month, so you work all of july, then are waiting 7 days to get your salary from what you've earned in july, that is a week in hand, not just "how i see it".
Anyway, seems odd and not something ive come across previously.
That is impossible there is no way any company can pay for hours worked on the same day!. It takes a few days to process the payment and calculate the amount due based on hours worked.0 -
Seriously, OP, this is entirely normal. If you're short of cash to tide you over, ask for a sub. Once you're over the start weeks it'll all settle down and you'll get paid holiday and things, don't kick off now, you're not being singled out for harsh treatment, you're on a payroll, this is how it works.0

There are multiple components to pay.
The pay period and the pay day and then overtime/expenses/timesheets cutoffs
A lot of companies work a calendar pay period for monthly pay.
This can typically be 1st to end, 15th to 14th or some other date.
Then you have the date that pay period will be paid.
Some companies pay a month(1st to end) near/at the end of the month, some pay early in the next month like yours.
some use the 15th/14th and pay at end of month.
The advantage of a delayed pay system is you can have the cutoff date for overtime/expenses match the end of the pay period.
very normal.0 -

Some companies pay mid-month for that month. When you're salaried the assumption is you'll be doing your hours and you should be getting at least your salaried pay each month. Any overtime, expenses or deductions will be reflected in the following month's salary if the information is submitted before the payroll cutoff date.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0 -

Yes that's what I am saying you cannot be paid for the exact hours you have worked on the same day you have worked them. But like you said you can of course be paid based on what your expected to work.0
