Cuts and austerity

Heard a number of times that EU out vote is in part a kick in the balls aimed at the elite\establishment as a reaction to the cuts\austerity imposed upon them.
As the defecit is still growing, NHS and pensions are ring fenced and famously tax credit changes and disability payments were aborted (plus as far as I know non working benefits have not been touched) exactly what form is this austerity taking?
Maybe I'm part of the elite (doubt it!) But haven't seen a single cut
What has been cut and where, who is it hurting and how does exiting the EU fix it?
Also how do we get the defecit down ? (If not cutting spending)

Being in or being out would not make much difference against the deficit in place and as for being a kick in the balls as you have ever so nicely put it well this is just rubbish, I voted out and I do not receive any kind of benefits so that was not a reason for me to do so.0

national debt is still growing
the budget deficit is broadly falling0 -
Ok. Thanks for info. Defecit is falling, debt is growing. Debt will continue to grow until defecit is better than zero.
So where have the cuts been made and who is hurting from them?
How will leaving the EU help?Left is never right but I always am.0 -

You are one person.Left is never right but I always am.0 -
If there is a Brexit related downturn hopefully the leave voters won't mind sharing the burden.
Oh hang on. The old and the poorly educated - as if.0 -
No coincidence that the areas most affected by austerity were the most keen to give the politicians a kicking in the EU referendum. Perhaps if the Barnett differentials didn't favour Scotland and NI so much then perhaps there would have been more areas of the UK happy to vote for the status quo like they did.You can't keep expecting non-metropolitan areas of England and Wales to keep taking it up the backside without kicking out eventually.
England (and Wales) is speaking, about time they listened.“Britain- A friend to all, beholden to none”. 🇬🇧0 -
