    DYOR (Do your own research).

Read the Honest John reviews and find out how they are rated in the Warranty Direct reliability index. That will be much more reliable than random mates and strangers on bulletin boards.

    So you can't help then:rotfl: !!

The post you're mocking is a perfectly helpful response to the question asked.

DYOR is a sensible first step before asking the random strangers, "what car should I buy".

    ps I can't help you either!! :)

    Hi all,

I have tried a VW golf, Audi A3 and Focus 1.0 Ecoboost. Didn't rate golf but liked A3 and Focus.

I have had a few friends that have told me not to touch KIA due to problems with it. They have told that is why KIA give 7-year warranties due to problems with car.

    Any views please ?

    Every car has problems.

From what I have heard from owners Kias are reliable. As are their sister companies vehicles, Hyundai.

The reason for the 7yr Warranty is to encourage using Kia dealers for Servicing as Kia are awkward when it comes to people opting out of Main Dealer Servicing.

And before anyone mentions it I understand Block Exemption, but they can argue that the parts weren't of a high enough quality, remember it isn't the EU that is going to honour any claims.

Somebody at Kia will have looked at the cost/benefit ratio of increasing the length of the Warranty, they clearly feel that they will gain more in financial terms than claims will cost.

And stating that the reason for a longer warranty is lack of reliability is a pointless statement.

That thinking would mean that a Toyota is less reliable than almost every make of car sold in the UK, as most have three years.

I only know of three that as standard give more than three years and that is Hyundai, Kia and Toyota. I don't count Audi or Dacia as you need to pay extra to increase the warranty. Not sure about specifics on Audi/Dacia but I did read about it a few months ago.
