Why not?
Plug a pair of earbuds in, such as these
put the ear defenders over them, and...

Also speaking up for Sennheiser - cheap as chips HD202 are used widely in edit suites. Lightweight, sound decent, priced very competitively. Sennheiser make broadcast equipment, their consumer lines benefit from some of the in house skill. Beats, Monster, SkullCandy, etc are for kids.0

Also speaking up for Sennheiser - I have pair of Sennheisers purchased in the 1970s which are still going strong, and a pair of Beyer Dynamic from the 1980s which are also still giving great service. What these guys don't know about headphones probably isn't worth knowing.
Beats initially partnered with Monster Cable to manufacture and develop the first Beats-branded products in late 2008. Prior to this NEITHER of them had ANY experience in manufacturing headphones..... Beats are a fashion accessory, nothing more0 -

I thought it was clear from my "Stanley ear defenders over my existing Sennheiser earbuds", but ...0 -
I can recommend Yamaha MT-220
These are a bit of a hidden-gem imo. Excellent clarity & neutral sound, with a lot of attack/punch.
You will probably want to replace the stock pads though, as they're not the most comfortable for long-listening.
Sennheiser Momentums are also a solid choice if you want a bit more style. I currently have a pair of on-ears, and they're brilliant. I even use them for gaming, as their sound-stage/bass is big enough. The bass on these is actually more pronounced than the Yamahas, but still balanced enough as to not be over-bearing.DMP:
