HPC On Here Trying To Cause Panic

I'm not against prices coming down at all and assuming I kept my job, a crash would work nicely in my favor
...
The HPC forum lot have proven themselves to be greedy, selfish, self centered...
Hang on. Are you in it for yourself or do you have any concern for others trying to buy? It's not clear from the above (!).
Also, what changed exactly between you apparently posting in 2008 using terms like "Lie To Buy" or whatever it was? It's obvious you are a member on that forum... or were."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -

I have concern for others being lied to and manipulated by HPC losers for their own selfish ends. I'll be fine either way and am not selfish or arrogant enough to think or hope my posting will make an impact either way anyway.
I just don't agree with deliberately lying and causing grief and misery for others. What's so hard to understand about that?
Nope, never been a member on the HPC forum. The constant delusional arrogance and self-centered crying and whining isn't my cup of tea. I do drop by from time to time when I feel like having a laugh at some egotistical idiots and pathetic self pity.0 -

Funnily enough the HPC forum lot who don't own property are actually far and away the most property obsessed people I know. You have to be quite obsessed to join a dedicated forum and talk about nothing else than something you don't actually have for 10+ years..0 -
Who cares what they post, the economic doom and gloom with job losses and instability is there for us all to see. If you are saying prices WONT drop you are the delusional one not them.
What is certain is job losses will occur, new taxes may be bought in, stocks have/will further tank. All this is inducive and certain reason for price drops0 -

Never visited the forum. If it's a discussion that's been running for 10 years then I feel sorry for everyone. As the one certainty in life is uncertainty. Deal with tomorrow when it arrives. Calling people names is my personal view rather pathetic.0 -
If you think about it, housing stock decreased massively due to Brexit, as before we could buy any house in Europe but now we're stuck on this silly island, so houses should be worth more now.
Not sure why Brexit should make a massive difference there. British people were buying properties in Europe before the EU came along, and we've got plenty of Russians, Chinese etc. buying property here. It may get a bit more complicated, but I don't believe our ability to buy property in Europe will change much.
OK, Sterling has dropped against the Euro, but only back to 2014 levels, not like 2008 when it almost got to £1 = €1.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

Brexit vote happened, get over it.
Is it a major economic/political event - Yes, are house prices/rents going to be affected - Yes, are a few "HPC Loons" coming over here to post "negativity" going to make any difference to the actual outcomes - No, are a bunch of people saying "Go for it", "Well done", "You did the right thing" etc. on an internet forum as someone pays over the odds for a house going to make any difference to the actual outcomes - No.
Did you think a Brexit was coming - Definitely NO! :rotfl:
Did some "Loons" (including myself) say it was? Yes.0 -

You have to buy the house you want when it is on the market. Being cheaper but not on the market doesn't help you.Crashy_Time wrote: »How do you know the price if it is not on the market?
If I read the above correctly, cakeguts means that when prices fall or there's uncertainty, the supply of good houses tends to dry-up. People who don't need to sell, sit tight.
Therefore, it might not be wise for someone to delay if the right house is there for them, right now. Yes, they could gamble on getting it cheaper, but that risks not getting it at all.
I think it depends to an extent on what sort of property someone is seeking, how long they intend to stay there and their attitude to risk..
It took me years to find my current property. I wouldn't risk losing something so difficult to locate without very careful thought!0
