How do you know that to be true? Other than anecdotal evidence, there are no buyer statistics for what is happening with the market right now, until at least July (or is it August, when the ONS/HPI/Halifax/Nationwide release their data for this month?).
If you're selling to move "up" the chain to a more expensive house, the proportional difference will be less so you'd still save money even selling yours for less, but it could be that if the price difference isn't much, it woudn't be worth you hanging about anyway, if you can still achieve the same price for your property as you set out to before Brexit.
Exactly, the price difference is only £5000 because the house we are buying, although bigger, needs a lot of work.
So for us it will make no difference.
I've not said it is the same for everyone but in our case we are no better or worse off than we were 2 days ago UNLESS the rest of the chain below us thinks differently (and I'm well aware that is likely) then we still plan to go ahead with the price we agreed.
IF I was a FTB then I'd feel differently and would not have even been house hunting until the referendum was over.Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

All of the evidence points to falling prices. Why would you ignore it?
I'm a little confused as to how you know these posts are not genuine? Are you saying they're from people on another forum?
Have you read the 1st post in this thread? People from the House Price Crash forum are coming on here and elsewhere to lie about buyers pulling out or reducing their offers in an attempt to create negative sentiment and cause/worsen a crash in house prices, so they can finally buy one for £250.0 -

The only things I can see on this forum are people being worried and uncertain about their future. Or does merely talking about the possibility of house prices falling mean that someone is a manipulative moral-less loser?
See my post above this one and check the 1st post. A lot of the posts on this forum at the moment aren't genuine and are from members of the house price crash forum trying to scaremonger for their own personal gain.0 -
The OP is referring to this thread...

Looks like they are also using the same tactics on Mumsnet (I'm not a member there).

EDIT: my second link doesn't show "spunko2010" original post now because he has amended it as a "double post"!! It originally linked to several posts on Mumsnet, along the same vein of those here. Wonder why he deleted his post....?Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Ixwood, looks like in 2008 you were talking the market down and using phrases like "lie to buy" which are on that forum....

What changed exactly?
I don't think your intentions are as genuine as you like to imply."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -

I have no affiliations with the other forum but you posted on there that you are enjoying reading about people worrying about their house purchases and sales falling through.
Nice!Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

I was talking to ixwood clearly. Did you sign into the wrong account?
I do hope the London bubble bursts and have never denied that. Unfortunately, that means some people will lose their shirt, but that's always the case. Sorry if that upsets you."The only man who makes money from a gold rush is the one selling the shovels..."0 -
I'm not against prices coming down at all and assuming I kept my job, a crash would work nicely in my favor, I just don't agree with the HPC losers lying and scaremongering to try and save themselves a few quid at the expense of causing misery for others.
The HPC forum lot have proven themselves to be greedy, selfish, self centered, not very smart and now dishonest, manipulative and deceitful.0 -

No but I also posted links to the other forum so thought I ought to declare no affiliation with it.
I doesn't upset me, I just don't think it is nice that people find enjoyment in others distress but it takes all sorts to make a world...Ageing is a privilege not everyone gets.

Welcome to the bitter and twisted world of HPCers where greedy baby boomers and BTLer's are the root of all evil and the sole cause of whinging losers not having the life of their dreams handed to them on a plate..0
