Ah thanks JJ Egan. Probably too late for that like you say. I'll just wait the few months for the ALR to end then go ahead and give Sky a try. I'd have been quite content to stay with BT, but had another issue with them regarding my bill, so more than happy to give someone else a try, although I'm not sure Sky CS will really be any better.

My contract is up with bt on infinity 1 later this month. Their retention deals were rubbish, even the person whom I spoke to said as much ! Think they're more interested in getting new customers compared to keeping existing ones. Noticed talktalk were doing fibre for £5 a month for 18 months last week, but they have reduced this now (typical, as I was probably going to go with that). Will wait until a good offer from another provider comes along hopefully soon.

Personally BT did me a cheaper deal than my old deal .
  • We rang Retentions on the evening of 30 June and were kept waiting for 20 minutes. When we got through the gentleman was fed-up totally disinterested and offered us £ 1.50 reduction on our £ 60 Infinity 2 package (excluding price rises). We decided to leave BT.

As long standing BT customers we'd just agreed a switch to the new TalkTalk UFO service which has recently been installed in our area at £40pm vs £62.50pm with BT (infinity 2 + all calls + TV entertainment plus + sport)

Phoned BT yesterday to arrange retention of email addresses at £5pm to find BT's last ditch effort to keep us resulted in £42pm to retain current contract for 12m + latest youview box and Homehub6 (to replace the HH3 we currently have) - even waived the postage costs :)
