eBay items warranty

It looks a bit-erm.. Not straightforward..
I would say its a drop shipper( fAstlink services limited deliver to Nigeria they say, for example )and looks like it's owned by someone with a Nigerian name
I'd explain to ebay that this is the company ( their registered office is in fareham hants) who's vat number is showing in the listings.
I've never purchased a square deal guarentee, if you think that's what you purchased , I imagine that's more like an insurance product?
I use this freephone number 0800 358 3229 to ring eBay , or you could go through the website and get a PIN number to input0 -

No I haven't got the square trade warranty (first phone I ever got that developed a fault), although I have been given the option to do so when I purchased.
eBay doesn't do much after 30/45 days of purchase. I guess I'm going to try to contact him again, if not Ill have to take it as a loss.0 -

It's your choice but if they have falsely represented a warranty ebay will be interested..it's a free phone call.0 -

I called them couple of days regarding an issue with a printer I bought. Dispute opened about 60 days after purchase. Toner kept falling off the pages. Nothing happened.
I managed to contact the manufacturer, so no loss, but here seems a bit more worrying.0 -
How did you pay? If via paypal you can file a claim within 180 days, so might be worth looking into that. Be quick though!0

Ill be checking on that now
Edit: I did in fact managed to open a dispute, although I'm only given two options: Not received or SNAD, which I've chosen explaining that the item had developed a fault...
Curious to see how this turns out...0 -
You might get a better understanding of their business model from this case:

The VAT number of your seller is registered to the same virtual address as some others mentioned there.0 -
Make sure you highlight in your dispute the warranty offered and the fact they posed as a UK company - So you are currently unable to exercise your consumer rights etc0

That probably backs up eBay in which I have to contact the manufacturer for warranty. Since lenovo doesn't offer one outside China/India I'm at a total loss.
I'm very surprised, they didn't even ask for documentation0 -

Paypal disputes are for INR (item not received) or SNAD (significantly not as described). Yours was a guarantee/warranty issue and therefore not covered by the Ebay or Paypal dispute mechanisms.0
