I've just had five days away in Settle, and clocked up 38 miles, bringing me up to 671 miles total. I'm changing my 1000 miles in one year target to 100 miles in one month. Still doable for the long term.

I am still plodding along. Plantar Fasciitis is still causing grief but is slowly improving. I am ahead of plan, just, but need to keep focussed. I am managing to keep the steps average above 10,000 which equates to 5 miles for me but I am only counting 'boots on' recorded walks.

Good for you, don't give up. I only count the times I specifically go out for a walk. I am going litter picking in a minute but don't count that, because I have to keep stopping. The one exception is when I deliver newsletters to 450 houses, and I run around to do them quicker.

I am still on plan 'just'. I spent 5 days in Barcelona last week and it was just too much faff to record the yomping as it was stop/start (plus it munched through the watch battery) so I have allocated myself 2.74 miles per day whilst there for simplicity. I did more than that as I managed between 15,000 and 20,000 steps each day but I am going for the simple 'stay on plan' option and 2.74 miles is what I need to average.

Just back from holiday in Cleveleys. did an 8 and a 9 mile walk, bumping my total to 724 miles. A very blustery walk from Cleveleys to the Pleasure Beach, and another on to Fleetwood. Back to the village walks of 3 miles a day.

Mally, Barcelona is nice, I like the old part, and the Football Stadium.

Oh dear, had three 'no walk' days this month so far. I am not going out in the pouring rain. The sun is back so I will catch up, and a day out with my walking buddies next week will give my miles a boost. Currently on 742. Need to keep walking to reach my target of 100 per month.

I have to go out with the dogs come rain or shine but they don't always get quite as long if it is really wet.
Still on track here but only just. It has either been too warm or too wet to build the buffer back up - plus I still haven't got rid of the plantar fasciitis :(
I have averaged 11,000 steps a day over the 32 weeks of the challenge so that is good news.

Hooooray, I have reached 800 miles. . I'm sticking to 100 a month, so on target. Next month should be easy, I'm having a walking holiday.

I am now 4 miles short of where I should be after a week with no dogs in Devon. I did one big walk along the South West Coast Path but it nearly crippled me - plantar fasciitis is definitely still with me when pushed. The rest of the week was cycling, surfing and body boarding, horse riding and generally being out and about but it didn't earn me many miles.
I am still averaging just over 11,000 steps a day for the year so far.
No more holidays now for a while so I just need to keep plodding along.

Hi Mally. It looks like you are doing a lot of different physical activities, which is a good way to exercise. Well done on the walking through your not so good feet. I think the key to all this is to stick with it, and you are obviously making an effort.

I am soon to go on a 7 day 140 mile walk. looking forward to getting out there with my rucksack on my back.
