you probably have up to 10 minutes to purchase a car parking ticket

when it was bought you should have entered to correct reg number of the vehicle, they check this against the anpr cameras

they ticket those that dont buy a ticket or there isnt a match, which may be what happened here

that ticket should have been kept as its your only contractual proof of payment

yes they should keep records but maybe you did not put the VRM in correctly so your "proof" of purchase may not be valid in their eyes

the NEWBIES sticky thread explains the appeals procedures etc

i have appealed through online appeal form with smart parking,,,,

Oh dear - we hope you didn't say who was driving? Such a waste of time when Smart are so damn easy to beat.

They cancel when they see the forum appeal in the NEWBIES thread. You should have come here before appealing. Too late then, you will get a rejection letter and have to go through POPLA.

Pointless waste of time, rather like a certain referee in a certain match with a certain 'foul'. Complete and utter...

Hi C-M - I guess you must be referring to Mike Dean's correct decision to give Dale Stephens a red card for slicing Gaston Ramirez's shin wide open.

    Hi Jamie - UTB :)

C-M's right on one thing, though - Smart are easy to beat and I very much hope that in your initial appeal you gave no clues as to who was driving.

I guess you must be referring to ''the complete and utter....'s'' INcorrect decision to give Dale Stephens a red card for daring to have his studs on the ball, where Gaston Ramirez then decided (late) to lift his shin upwards and into a boot.

Just put that right for you. Dale Stephens has never been sent off before and that wasn't a sending off in a zillion years. Travesty.

But maybe you and I are best not talking football! Should add I have always found Boro fans to be friendly when at the Amex...can't say the same of Burnley fans. But this isn't a footie forum!

  • Hey jamieboro, and co

My mum had also received a parking ticket from smart parking for parking at Sports Direct Darlington. She had bought a ticket before entering shop and had entered her registration correctly. We have the ticket to prove it! She then received this notice which is addressed to her by name with photo of car arriving and leaving. The leaving time on the photo says she left site at 14.20pm. Her ticket with all registration numbers matching mind you states a leave time of 14.58pm. we appealed and were told ... "the ticket purchaced is for ................ NOT ................ These reg no's they state on their own letter are the same!!!!!! and match our ticket!!! !!!!!!!!!!!

    Can anyone advise..

    Thanks

  • Please can anyone help. My partner used the car park at sports direct Darlington not realising he had to purchase a ticket if using the shop, as you didn't have to in the past. Anyway he was in the car park a total of 15mins and now has a parking ticket of £160, as he did choose to ignore the ticket originally but as his car is a lease car he has now realised that this isn't going to be possible! What is the best thing to do/say??
    Thank you
