I just wanted to post this as back when I was considering a dog, I posted here to get opinions etc and some people may still be around
My gorgeous rescue girl went to the bridge on Wednesday after 7.5yrs with me. She was the most wonderful dog and I feel so lucky to have been allowed to take her home with me.
It was the right time (she was PTS) and the right decision, but she still looked so healthy. She went into the Vets all alert, wagging tail and having treats and loved to go anyway, but it's never easy especially when they look so healthy.
She was 12.5yrs old and I am so glad everyone who contributed to the thread helped push me in her direction
RIP Chaya

So sorry to hear your sad news. It's never easy - especially when they still "look" healthy. Take comfort in the fact that you were able to do the right thing for your best friend. I remember Chaya - wasn't she a PAT dog? I'm sorry to hear that she's gone. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
I'm so sorry.
Our last old boy went in with waggy tail and glossy coat, though he was very thin under all the hair. People thought he had just gone for his MOT.0 -

She was indeed a PAT dog a while back, I did a huge thread here two months before getting her, to question you all about various things I may not have considered regarding dog ownership etc
She came to me from a rescue, all skinny & shy (tried to post photos but think I need Photobucket again, but they are in the Cavalier King Charles in flat thread)
She was amazing, and I expected it to be my 18yr old cat with CKD, not Chaya! But I knew it was her time and she never had pain or suffering but had started to lose her quality of life, so I felt better a little early than late. Very hard tho and it just felt right to put it up as so many followed her thread all those years ago x0 -
