Windows 10 - 3 weeks LATER AND IT HAS GONE BAD!

Windows 10 did its auto update on me 3 weeks ago, and all was good until the updates yesterday.
Unfortunately it now takes minutes or more to load Firefox and all programmes are down to snails pace.
I cannot edit photos or upload then to Flickr, and I cannot apply for jobs, which is the single most important thing in life for me at the moment.
Has anyone else experienced this?

No, I have been using task manager constantly, trying to see what is happening.
At one poine Cortana was using up a lot I exited it, and that seemed to help.
I wonder if this "forced" upgrade to W10 is more than my machine can take?0 -
How many AV/anti-spyware apps are you running?0

I found that a clean wipe and install Win 10 solved all problems .0

Just a quick update.
The PC is running really slow today, slower than it has ever been, to the extent that I cannot open any photos from my albums in "pictures" and I badly need to edit a load today.
I had a look at Startup and something called "MFManager (3)" is having a High impact on startup, more specifically something called "SLRuntimeLoader" within MFManger.
In Processes, "Disk" is showing between 0% and 99%, and I am doing nothing.
Is the hard disk on the way out?0 -
I think both of those are associated with Canon software......Right click them in the Task manager and look at the properties......If, I'm right it may be a driver issue with your Canon software.....End the tasks in task manager and see if it speeds up your PC.Drinking Rum before 10am makes you

Apparently this very high disk uage % (95% to 100% at rest) is a very common bugbear of people who have been forced into a Windows 10 upgrade - like myself.
Mine was OK until yesterday, when for some reason the PC slowed down to what was frankly an unworkable pace, and as I said before I cannot start up Adobe Elements (I don't use Canon software) to edit a load of images I have just taken over the past week.
This whole thing is beyond frustrating!
What is the old saying - "It it ain't broke then don't try to fix it"
I was happy with Windows 7 for one simple reason - it worked!0 -
So go back to Windows 7.....0

First, using method 1 from this page, disable sleep for both battery power and plugged in.
Now leave Windows 10 logged in for a few hours, don't use it. Chances are the updates are just catching up, especially now we've just had update Tuesday (Windows updates are released monthly, on the second Tuesday of each month).0 -
Came across a similar "tricky" Windows 10 problem. A friend's desktop started running at upto 100% disk usage (not sure if related to the recent updates). Works fine in Safe mode. Disabled all Startup "Apps". No obvious resource was the culprit. Chkdsk reported no disk issues. I suggested a W10 refresh (keeping data). Haven't heard the result. If you put your general location in your Profile, somebody here may be able to come and help you.0
