It's the end of the holidays and I'm sad. So nice to be off and to be chilled doing my own thing.

Back to work on Monday, I'll be fine once I've spent an hour there.

We've just got back from a 9km walk, it's a lovely day. Now I'm going to peg out some washing and enjoy my afternoon.

Yes not long and then it's only 4 weeks to half term! Typical educators counting down the weeks to the next holiday

Three days in and back in the swing of things.

My son, whose 17 has been offered an apprenticeship today! He's been applying for 7 months, quite a few interviews but nothing...until today. I'm so pleased for him.

For me, it means my child benefit goes from £137 to £85 a month but it's a small price to pay as he desperately needs this for his self esteem and so he can start earning some money. It's not a lot (£131 a week) but it's a start and probably seems like a fortune to him!

  • That's super news on your DS. I hope it's the start of a lucrative career. I often ponder if learning a trade at a younger age would have been a better option for me as many of my friends have and live a very comfortable life. Some own their own business. Some are able to work over time if they've got a holiday or something coming up. Hope it all works out for him.

Speky it's an IT/digital marketing apprenticeship. Not all apprenticeships now are trade.

He's going to be working in an office, supporting IT and keeping the website/Twitter/Facebook side of things going. He had a taster day yesterday and loved it.

Now got to buy him some office wear.,
