Lazy weekend so far. Did a shop in Aldi £44 and a top up shop in Morrisons.

I've been to the gym, so feeling good about that. Just having a break from some school work. Planning on watching a film later.

Tomorrow will be cleaning & ironing. Bit of a dull weekend but quite glad after a very busy summer.
  • Great to hear you 'budgeting' for next months expenditure. And spending the EF should be guilt free; it was an emergency so you used it, that's what it's there for.

    Keep plodding away Louby!

    Thanks Speky!

I've not been on here for a while but I'm still budgeting and resisting spending.

I'm skint now. And it's only the 17th! Child benefit goes in on Monday and maintenance from my ex on the 26th then payday on the 28th so I shall be ok.

Had to use my credit card to buy a subscription for work but they're refunding me the whole amount so it's not really a spend. Still kept out of my overdraft which makes me SO happy!

My EF stands at £100, Christmas is £200 & savings for my bathroom is £90.

After payday my short term debt should go under £3k. My debt free date stands at July 2017. It could come sooner.

I've managed to get about £50 extra through Topcashback sites and surveys and made about £150 through eBay.

    I'm totally committed to this.

Another good day! Busy as always.

Did some school work, ironing (which only took half an hour) only ironing for 3. Cooked Sunday lunch. Went for a walk with my OH.

My brother and his family popped in for a brew which was nice.

My car is booked in for a service and MOT on Friday. Fingers crossed it passes. I've budgeted £250 for it.

7th NSD, best I've ever done.
  • Well done on beating your own NSD record. I find it really quite competitive - with myself - to try and beat my own record.

Fingers crossed for the MOT and service.

    Well yesterday was rubbish.

My ex husband of 10 yrs (who I have a reasonable relationship with) suggested he reduce my maintenance payments in the light of our eldest son living with him 4/5 days at week whilst at college.

My ex has always underpaid my maintenance by nearly £200 a month but I've let it go as we had an amicable relationship for our boys. I've never gone down the official government maintenance route, we decided an amount together.

Last year I suggested he increase it ( he's never done so in 10 yrs) as the boys are now teenagers and EAT! He reluctantly agreed and I didn't speak to him for 4 months has he caused such a big deal about it.

He's now saying we need to look at the maintenance and wants to reduce it. I was livid yesterday. He's never paid enough as it is.

In addition to this, my son will come home to me every holiday. I'm a teacher. He has no friends near his dad's and in all honesty doesn't want to stay there really, it's just more convenient as public transport is terrible from our area to his college. So for 13 weeks ( less 1 night he'll be at his dad's) he will here with me.

I don't know what to do. He's asked me to suggest an amount to reduce it by and get back to him?..
  • That's a tricky one and I wish I had an answer.

What about asking your son for some money, assuming he has a part-time job?

He only gets £25 a week. I couldn't ask him for any of that!

    Good day today!

Fingers crossed no bad things happen in October otherwise I'm truly eating beans!

    Good weekend.

Not much spent, £65 on food for the week. It seems to be going up not down and there are only 3 of us living here now my eldest son is living with his dad for 5 days. We did buy wine & beer though!

We went walking yesterday, 8 miles and felt great afterwards.

Today I've sold a few things on ebay and got £40 which will go straight to pay the cc. That's £84 in 2 weeks. Would love it to be gone by Christmas then I can concentrate on the second one. Still working towards my debt free date of July 2017!
