Well we're back from Jersey! What a beautiful place. We had a really lovely time but I've eaten, drank and spent far too much!
I've paid £458 off my short term debt this month, not bad considering I've been on 2 holidays & had a weekend in London and paid my plumber to fix my boiler. My EF is now back at £100 so that's a start and I have £200 in my Christmas savings. I haven't used my CC or gone into my overdraft.
Next month my debt will be below £3k! I'm hoping it's gone in 10 months!
So September is frugal - small spends!0 -
Today has been all about washing! I've done about 5 loads so far. It takes forever to put everything away when you've been on holiday.
My 16 yr old son goes to stay with his dad tonight, Mon-Fri. He's starting college and it's easier for him to live with his dad as it's about 8 miles from where I live. I'm a bit sad but it's the most sensible thing to do. He's also a messy so & so, eats me out of house and home and he and his friends often use my kitchen as a youth club.
Financially I should be better off UNLESS his dad decides to stop paying me maintenance for him. He may decide not to stay with him so we shall see what happens.0 -
Up and it's still dark.
Inset day today, so meetings first thing then time in the classroom this afternoon!
Glad to be going back to work. Looking forward to routine, less spending and catching up with everyone.0 -
Two NSD so far this month. Had my hair cut tonight so a spendy day today.
Busy at school, welcoming my class back. It was good to get back into it though.
I have had to buy my youngest son school shoes as his are too small! He's only 13 and is in size 11. I'm hoping I won't dip into my overdraft. We shall see. 13 days till I get my child benefit so I may be ok.
Hope everyone has had a good MSE type of day0 -
Third NSD today. September is definitely going to be a tight month. My car needs servicing and its MOT doing towards the end of the month.
Luckily my car is full of petrol. I've budgeted for food and we have no social plans this month. I've started back at my gym tonight, so it's back to sensible eating and losing a few pounds.
I can do this. 19 days till pay day!0 -
You will get there!
I dread the month that the car needs doing....it's a horrible build up to a sometimes horrible end! Hopefully your car will fly through!
My SS is 13 and his shoe size has gone from a 7 to a 10 in the last year - it's bonkers!!This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
