  • These things happen.

We should still have a life while battling through debt so your nights out and pamper sessions should be guilt free, and they will as you'll budget for them and soon be back on track.
  • louby you are doing so well. It might not feel like it but that is because you are more aware. It WILL get better once payday is here.
Enjoy your nights out. They are important. And get your hair done, it is important to feel good. Agree with Specky wholeheartedly.

I think sometimes we forget minimum payments are better than pre lbm behaviours and to be worried about ONLY paying minimum is a marker of how well you are doing. xx

Thanks PSL and Speky, I know I'm chipping away but like everyone on here, we want the debt gone NOW!

Something always comes up though - Take That (seen them 3 times) are pre-releasing tickets tomorrow for their tour next year! 2 tickets will be over £100 probably.

I do have money in my budget for extras but not really extras like concert tickets!

Debt = living??? It's so hard sometimes

Hey Louby. Do you have an EF or saving pot you can borrow from to get the take that tickets from? If you have, you could pay them back each month?
I guess you need to weigh up what the risk is with buying them - will it put you in a more precarious position? Or will knowing that you have the tickets mean that you can be more frugal for the next few months to make up for it?
    Not an easy choice!
    Hope you are well XRamblezx

I bought 2 tickets - they went on my Barclaycard £138. Because they're on there I'm going to get rid of the extra debt asap. I've already paid £28 towards it from surveys/topcashback. I've got some other bits to sell on ebay so shall sort those out to put towards the CC.

I've had a fab half term.

We went to see Nina Conti (the comedian) who putsmasks on people. We were on the front row so I ended up being one of those people on stage. It was hilarious.

Went out for a meal with friends, dentist, hairdressers, painted the kitchen ceiling after my summer flood and a trip to the local tip! Bit of school work, cleaning, washing etc

Tomorrow we're going to Manchester to see the Undertones - anyone under 40 probably won't even know who they are!! We're staying over, meal and drinks! can't wait.

Great time last night. We were staying in student land so a large glass of wine was £3!! Very MSE.

Had tea in Wetherspoons - my treat as DP paid for the tickets. £25 for 2 meals and puddings AND a drink, not bad.

Called into Ikea on our way home and ended up spending £15! And £3 on cake and coffee!!

All bills paid for the month. Not much left but fingers crossed I can stay in the black. I ended up being £300 over drawn which I was so annoyed about. Minimum payments to CC this month.

I have £350 in my Christmas fund and £300 in my emergency fund. I also have £150 in my home renovation fund. So I've got money to use if needs be.

I love Christmas but it's rubbish having to spend when I want to save and get rid of my debts.
  • Louby, great work on the stash you've got. Just need to try and keep spending to a minimum this month and you'll have had a great November!

Easy for a pro like you.

Speky I love that you think that lol....I constantly feel like I'm swimming through mud and getting nowhere!

But I can see the debt coming down slowly.

I've been to get a quote for my en-suite bathroom today, just so I could get an idea of what it's going to cost me. I was quoted £2k for the shower, wc, sink and furniture and a further £2k for installation. I know quite a few plumbers and joiners so know I could get it fitted for less than that. But that doesn't include tiling and plastering and electrics. So I need to factor that in.

I now have a figure to work towards. In July my debts will be gone and I will have £500 a month extra to play with each month. I can either save like crazy or get a small loan. I don't really want a loan but don't know how else I could afford it. I'd like to start on it next Autumn time ideally!

    Decisions!
