All this talk of interest rates and accounts has got me thinking...
When was the last time you visited your bank?
its months ago for me as we do everything online but there must be people who still go to them,or maybe not....we've just taken out a new mortgage and the whole process was online,on the phone and by post so it does seem that the days of the high street branch might be numbered....its a shame really but I guess a sign of the times.0 -

Far easier to do faster payments.

granted they have then got to bank the cheque and it will take a couple of days to be debited(assuming the drawer and payee dont bank with the same bank)...but I think a more up to date clearing of cheques is in the pipeline to be rolled out soon allowing cross bank debiting in an effort to either kill them off or compete with the faster payment system...lots of companies are starting to dissuade customers from issuing them as it costs them money to bank them too.
Either way...I think the days of cheques are numbered.frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

Because the questions regarding bank accounts and interest come up regularly, here is brief summary, of the best at present.
The figures in brackets is the max amount to put in for max interest.

Club LLoyds 4% (£5000) monthly pay in £1500 2 DD's
BOS x3 3% (£5000) monthy pay in £1000 2DD's

Evening All,
I've been really busy recently so not had much chance to post or go shopping.
I quite fancy the weetabix as my kids go through loads of this so will give it a try on my way home from work.
There's a 'glitchy' way to get more than the allowable number of accounts from above, anyone interested in finding out how then send me a PM and I'll do my best to reply.
In other news, after buying the thing at Christmas I've finally got my Lay-Z-Spa set up in my garden, quite enjoyable to sit there relaxing whilst drinking a free carling.
Cheers,
