Good morning.
On my way to what appears to be a very wet Bristol this morning.
Have a great holiday Bubbs.
Not a glitch, but a good price - Tesco have 4 packs of Sol beer for half price at £2.19.
Have a good day allSmiles are as perfect a gift as hugs...

so we are in the very odd place now in the year with our family because there are no family events now until the week before Christmas - eldest sons birthday so 6 months without anything on the calendar
All the various birthdays now are between December and March and then there is Christmas, new Year, Easter, Mothers Day etc and the tail ender is Fathers day in June (also used to be my Dads birthday in June)
so you would think having this long gap in the middle I would be incredibly organised with the correct gifts for everyone on the right occasion for the various birthdays - 6 months to organise Christmas and Birthday gifts for the 4 blokes in the family - if it was 6 years it would still not be enough time :rotfl:
Got a couple of craft kits cheap in Wilko the other day. SA asked me why I was buying two, told her it was for Christmas stockings, she said she was impressed that I was starting my Christmas shopping, don't think she expected me to say that I had more or less finished the stocking presents :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

The subject of stair carpet troubles me.
We still had the original carpet on our stairs up until a few years ago, possibly from the owner before last so at least the 1980s or even the 1970s - it was dark blue and showed up every bit of dust, fluff, cat hair and sock fluff.
So in the big bedroom revamp it was pulled up and taken to the tip and the stairs are now bare.
It's another area we can't decide on.
Even now it collects dust bunnies and I have to dustpan and brush it daily even though the house is mostly empty now.
How can something that's used maybe half a dozen times a day and usually barefooted be so messy
We did wonder about painting them white and then putting jazzy striped carpet down the middle or just putting some hessian type of carpet up
But there is one more bedroom in need of a revamp so the stair problem is on hold until that's done.HTH

There is a nice Leeds building society monthly saver which you can apply for online. You then get a form to print off to send with your Opening cheque. You get a passbook but you can see your account online, all very simple and straightforward, just need a standing order to top up the account every month from whatever is your donor account.
Off the top of my head its 3% annually and its continuous so no faffing about once its set up.
just found the link
http://www.leedsbuildingsociety.co.uk/savings/access-accounts/regularsaver/
but I also found this useful page which lists the other local building societies which mainly you have to set up regular savers accounts by appointment in the branch so good if you live close by - excellent if you live in Kent as you can get 4% :j

I found one I'd not seen listed before called the Leek bs which is open in branch and it seems to be continuous plus there is a branch in Hanley which I've got to go to very soon
also noticed West brom but the max you can out in a month is £100 but it would be enough for someone just starting out to save - enough to pay for the holiday final balance or the car (insurance/MOT/service/road tax) or for Christmas etc“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. :(:(
Absolutely tipping it down all morning so far.
Plus the 'kind' recycling men left my plastics as they were in a clear plastic bag bin to keep them safe from blowing down the street. We are not allowed to recycle plastic bags now:(
Our recycling goes all the way to Oxford rather than local firm

Brilliant - love the mouse steps
I suppose you would put a dark stain on the step bit and then white paint on the riser - I could manage this myself, not sure what paint to use though
also if you cut out a mouse, cat and mousehole stencil - using that thin plastic paper you can get in craft places ...HTH
