The subject of stair carpet troubles me.

We still had the original carpet on our stairs up until a few years ago, possibly from the owner before last so at least the 1980s or even the 1970s - it was dark blue and showed up every bit of dust, fluff, cat hair and sock fluff.
So in the big bedroom revamp it was pulled up and taken to the tip and the stairs are now bare.
It's another area we can't decide on.
Even now it collects dust bunnies and I have to dustpan and brush it daily even though the house is mostly empty now.
How can something that's used maybe half a dozen times a day and usually barefooted be so messy

We did wonder about painting them white and then putting jazzy striped carpet down the middle or just putting some hessian type of carpet up
But there is one more bedroom in need of a revamp so the stair problem is on hold until that's done.

    Your carpet looks lovely nellie:T

We have a complicated turn in the stairs and a geometric design and the fitters did a great job....but it was something that worried me initially

    Morning all.

:eek::eek: Thats almost a 1000 litres a week, I hope you are not on a water meter. The water is good for much longer than that if you use the chlorine and let the pump/filter go a few hours every day. (Well, obviously depending if the kids are using it as a bath or not :D )

No we're not on a water meter!
We do use chlorine etc I'm not sure about the filter though it's dh department. It's more the thought of it than the water looking like it needs changing and nope, no kids anywhere near it.

Do the people with striped carpets have straight stairs? I would love it but our stairs turn 90 degrees three stairs from the top and I wonder if it would make the stripes go funny.

Morning all - rain, rain and more rain. Light started flickering on Thursday night after a thundery downpour. Contacted Emergency Cover provided by Halifax explaining it was flickering although it was switched off. FairPlay they organised a roofer to come out Saturday morning and an electrian on Sunday.

Really nice tradesman roofer fixed some guttering for me and electrician replaced the light switch for me with a brass one which were not covered in the call out.

So grateful as with the amount of rain descending now I think the holes the roofer found might have got a whole lot bigger - hate to think of the consequences:eek:

Hope you managed to have a good one despite the weather Folks xx
