no....but don't say that DH has been watching footy non stop til last weekend, I haven't known ive had a husband except via emails at his work when I give him shopping lists to do...
He supports Liverpool. has done since he was knee high to a grasshopper!!, GS supports Chelsea and DS who lives in London supports Oldham...
as well as the English teams DH also watches La Liga supporting Madrid..
needless to say I don't watch.

Many years ago before I was married DH took me to a foot ball match..Liverpool v Ipswich, it was televised and on match of the day...
we saw the highlights at home that evening, and who do you think the tv cameras panned in on?
    that's right us.
and why is that you may ask

I was wearing all blue in the Liverpool end and supporting Liverpool...we did escape with our lives :rotfl::rotfl:

Oldham  I live here and wouldn't support them :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Morning all - foggy start but its now glorious outside

I had an email from Greggs this morning :j

So as its been about 6 months since I started having issues with my app I went online via the website and reset my password. I then had to log in again on the phone app and finally I have a functioning app :j Why didn't I do this 6 months ago, sometimes I annoy myself so much.

Last time I tried to use it for a breakfast for OH I just had a blank square where the fuzzy code is usually so the girl just typed in the row of numbers underneath and it seems to work.
Today though looking at my account online it seems I have £3 more credit than I though - how did that happen. I thought at first that my purchase last time had been added on rather than being taken off but that makes no sense as breakfast is £2 not £3. Some things will forever remain a mystery.

Anyway on the Greggs app now is a free cookie :j
I am thinking that if you don't have the app but download it with your birthday which is just a few days away ;) you might get the free coffee for new accounts, free cookie and then also free birthday cake - this is an untested experiment as yet :)

    Good morning all...busy day today....

but whizzing through to wish belated birthday wishes to HILLBERN and frequent.

Wanted to add my perspective to the "BLACKBOX" question from SARAH...

DS has one fitted in his car and has had it since day 1 driving...his policy is with Admiral and we have been very pleased with it.
There is no time restrictions on their boxes basically the drivers know they are being monitored and as such drive accordingly...

We have an app tracker and each week we get details of the journeys
that the car has taken, each one is graded either gold silver or bronze and these are worked out on several factors including response times to braking speed etc.

At the end of each month a score is given and providing that stays gold over the year then insurance premiums are not over inflated for the following year.

The box makes no distinction over who is driving and there have been times when both OH and I have only managed silver journeys so actually it keeps us all in check a little!

I dont really agree with the poster who says that they end up putting your insurance up....lots of factors contribute to that, and I found the original post a little without substance sorry....

We have had nothing but a good experience with a black box and it has bought down the cost of insurance substantially when we renewed earlier this year ...i think its just a case of weighing the facts and deciding which one if any suit your son.

Putting either you or your OH on the policy may make a difference to the premium but check with whoever you insure with....some actually increase it by having parents associated!
The main thing is that the policy is in your sons name and as such he starts to get his own insurance history which hopefully reduces premiums in the long term.

If you want any more info...happy to help..but it worked for DS and he doesnt see it as intrusive in any way...

hope everyone has a lovely sunny day....and that Riley wins a race at sports day!

LEJC, thanks for getting back to me.

I have only had a look at a few sites so far, so not gone into it in much detail yet.

We havnt decided on what car he is getting yet (or should I say, we havnt found one yet).

I just spotted on some of the comparison sites, that there was a curfew on them, which is going to be somewhat of a pain, as DS1 starts work at 6am, so will be driving from 5.30am and the curfew starts at 7.

So I really need to check out the ones that dont have any curfews.

    Thankyou.

Also last night I was looking at Post Office travel insurance for someone and I noticed that for the Post Office they lump in Greenland with the US and Canada so it needs the upgraded insurance - most peculiar.
It does make you wonder though about your travel insurance, what oddies there are that you might not normally notice - Nationwide has a long list of acceptable and unacceptable activities it does and does not cover - so its always worth double checking.

Anyway this reminded me of something I had to check with our travel insurance people so I gave them a ring. They went through the usual security details and then refused to talk to me because the address was wrong. They asked for our previous address and the date it was changed - well we have been here for 30 years and I can barely remember the old address ...

So as they then could not speak to me I had to ring Nationwide to explain the situation. All of our normal banking details and address were correct except for the travel insurance. So they then talked to the travel insurance people. It turned out that when Eldest son had let Nationwide know of his new address just before Easter they had changed the address on his current and banking account and in the meantime also our travel insurance had his new address on
No, it does not make any sense whatsoever and it took 2 phone calls and half an hour to get it all changed back correctly. And I am going to ring again today just to make sure it is correct.
I've also messaged Eldest son to do the same with his.

If I hadn't rung with a minor query then we might have been away someone and in an emergency situation and no one from the travel insurance people would talk to us.

So the moral of the tale is don't assume, check and double check :)

I imagine you have had a look at Admiral black box - it says no curfews (unless you regularly drive after 10) but it says nothing about early morning starts.
Errant sons first car was a Fiat Panda Eco which had the very small engine size insurance companies like and also as it was Eco the road tax was only £30 a year - not a very trendy car but he carries a lot of kit around with him
