Feel like I've been knocked for six today. My daughter came out of one her GCSE exams today and found a load of children from year seven crying. She found out that one of the girls in my son's year group lost her mum in the Manchester bombing. She had been waiting in the foyer to collect her when the bomb went off. My daughter is a fan of "Cat" and would have been at the concert with her mates but for the fact that she realized it was slap bang in the middle of their exams when they were making arrangements to book the tickets. My mum took her to see 1D at the Etihad just a few years ago, and her friends wanted my mum to go with them when they go together to their next concert as they think she's the coolest granny ever. As parents at the school we often arrange for groups of children to go together under the supervision of one adult, as they enjoy each other's company and it saves on the cost of travel and tickets. It could so easily have been the adults in my family killed or injured if it wasn't for the GCSE's. I've already lost family in 7/7, and was luck that my plans to sit the New York Bar exams
