Could I please ask what people's thoughts are on receiving handmade cards. This is something I've started doing recently and I've made a couple for friends' birthdays. We've now been invited to the wedding evening do of one of DH's colleagues - he barely knows her and I've never met her. Anyway, I've made a card but wonder whether they would think we are just complete cheapskates or would it be acceptable? All thoughts welcome
Good morning, knowing what it costs to make a card I think it should be very appreciated, my dd makes cards and they can a lot more expensive than a bought one.🙂The person who never makes a mistake never learns anything.0 -
oh...maybe I kind of disagree here....some of the best that I have ever received have been created in a very shambolic way...and not just by my own children.
And to be fair handmade/homemade doesnt actually always work out cheaper than popping to clintons or where ever and just buying one.
I also think that if a person is going to keep any cards...it's their wedding cards they keep going forward in a box as a bit of an extra reminder of the day.
I also doubt very much that if HG makes a card it will be the only handcrafted one received......
Although HG might not know the individuals she's making for adding even the date of the wedding to the card would be a lovely touch0 -

Is this working out at £2 each jar then? Or have I missed something? Thanks:)0

I love handmade cards.
However one year I made some fabulous cards.
I gave a friend one and her dd, they opened them when I was there.
She looked surprised and said "oh, I've spent a fortune on my cards this year"
I haven't made any since despite having loads of kit.
Morning peeps.
How rude if she was implying your cards were cheap. I would have replied. Thats funny so have I0
