Actually would be massive us you get all jf but you could lynx, but remember the cheapest will be free

Good advice - don't mix and match (which is what they want you to do!) as the cheapest item comes off.

I saw a muggle yesterday who bought 2 £7 items then chucked in a £2 item  Some people pay no attention to cost - even muggles could save on their normal shop if they were prepared to think about it even briefly (and save more if they split and use APG to their advantage). But that would no doubt be too much hassle.

    Morning all :)

Could I please ask what people's thoughts are on receiving handmade cards. This is something I've started doing recently and I've made a couple for friends' birthdays. We've now been invited to the wedding evening do of one of DH's colleagues - he barely knows her and I've never met her. Anyway, I've made a card but wonder whether they would think we are just complete cheapskates or would it be acceptable? All thoughts welcome :)

I suppose it depends on how good it looks - if I did it, it would definitely not set the right impression as I am hopeless with crafts :o. They may appreciate the effort Handmade cards can provide a personal touch - could you add "Designed By xxx" or whatever on the back if you feel conscious as it is hand made?

oh...maybe I kind of disagree here....some of the best that I have ever received have been created in a very shambolic way...and not just by my own children.

And to be fair handmade/homemade doesnt actually always work out cheaper than popping to clintons or where ever and just buying one.

I also think that if a person is going to keep any cards...it's their wedding cards they keep going forward in a box as a bit of an extra reminder of the day.

I also doubt very much that if HG makes a card it will be the only handcrafted one received......

Although HG might not know the individuals she's making for adding even the date of the wedding to the card would be a lovely touch

Yup, when I have tried to help friends with advice I get:

" oh, it's only a couple of quid for all that work"
"It's not much, I am always in a hurry"
" You pick things up off of the GROUND!!"
" You have how much!!" then "too much hassle for me"

Saying that, if muggles do get more savvy, the offers would stop and there would be poorer pickings for us :T
Long live muggles, muggles forever!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I love handmade cards.
However one year I made some fabulous cards.
I gave a friend one and her dd, they opened them when I was there.
She looked surprised and said "oh, I've spent a fortune on my cards this year"

I haven't made any since despite having loads of kit. :(

    Morning peeps.

Maybe I'm just grateful for anyone who sends me a card....I do think its a one of those things that might be a dying out.

I really appreciate the thought, sometimes more than a gift.
...but I have noticed over the years the number of people who still love to receive a card for an occasion but are not always likely to reciprocate ........I have family members who get very stroppy should we forget but when it's my birthday there isn't even an acknowledgement...apparently I was born on a day to close to other celebrations to remember!
