fish shop compared ok. Sorry for delay, was dealing with getting medication for my mum. Doctor has prescribed some sleeping pills for mum as she is up all night and asleep all day despite us trying to keep her awake during the day.
Local hospice phoned and said they "may" offer mum a bed there for a few nights next week to monitor her sleeping pattern.
Got a gut feeling she will be staying there as she is deterioating faster now :(

This could well be the best course of action gocat. It's a constant worry if mum is up and about during night time hours. You just never know what they're going to do.

As for maybe staying there, if mum is deteriorating quickly, now is a good time for you to get her settled where she can get round the clock care. I wish you and mum all the best in getting her sorted and settled xx

Sunny but cold here this morning  very cold last night too. I was wrapped up in a duvet on the sofa and got told off for lolloping again :p  so grabbed said duvet and stomped off up stairs  that'll teach him to mess with me when I'm feeling cold :rotfl:

On a catch up, won't be long xx

    another question pretty please.

I've been trying to figure put where Errant sons tax office is and google said
"From your PAYE reference. The first 3 digits of this identify which tax office you need to deal with. Enter your 3 digit tax office code"
    http://www.numberscount.org.uk/tax.asp

On his pay sheet it just says
    reference number 06378

I don't know if this is the PAYE reference or just a works number and putting 063 into the box does not come up with anything. I tried IE11 and google chrome incase it was a browser issue

Am I being very dense again???

I know you can change your address online for HMRC purposes but I think he needs to write a letter to update them of other things.
In fact I suspect that he is still registered under the home address as I cant imagine him ever getting around to letting HMRC know of his kent address last year.

We got worried about where the P60 (End of Year Certificate) is going to be sent to this morning hence the need to make sure HMRC know the change of circumstances and address etc.

I also suspect that he has paid some student loan repayments even though his total earnings for 2016/2017 where under the threshold. So far he has managed to find one payslip from 08/2016 which would be the first one so its not a typical month. He is trying to get hold of the rest of his payslips so we can check. I thought that they were all sent via encrypted email but apparently not or at least he does not have them.
He also said he printed off his payslips but he has no idea where they are :(

He has emailed HR and so eventually we will have a full set of payslips to check. Then when the P60 arrives he can send a photocopy of them and also of his payslips off to the student loans place in Glasgow and possibly get any payments refunded.

Yes I know, we tell our offspring a zillion times about keeping their HMRC papers, payslips and paperwork all organised, filed and up to date and it falls on deaf ears.

I am not annoyed about it, its only what I expected. if he had been in touch last year I would have been reminding him but he wasn't.
But this sort of knotty problem I like dealing with as its fairly easy to sort out when you have all of the evidence gathered together.

Its also a good distraction - keeps the mind occupied and stops you focussing on the issues that cant be so easily resolved ...

The P60 comes from his present employer or in this case the last person to employ him before 5.4.17. Ususally they just send it out to the address they have and some companies can be funny about providing a duplicate. I do Payroll at work and always print an extra copy for my files in case the chaps at work lose them. The tax reference should be something like 794/XXXXX. My OH had a problem with his tax code and the only way I could contact them was by e-mail and it did get a result although it took a few weeks.
Regarding the Student Loan companies should not take repayments from salary unless they earn over the limit ( not sure what it is at the moment ) so I think they may be liable to refund it not Student Loans as they would just say he must be due to pay as they have received the money.

Excited here as DS and wife and DGD are coming down for a few days today and I havent seen them since Feb. Hoping for a bit of sun.
COntractors came yesterday and sealed the floors at home so drying should be stepped up again today. Kitchen design came yesterday just needs tweaking and we can go ahead. Very busy at work this week and I am doing the count for the election tonight aswell. Although I have visitors I have tommorow off so should only be out from 9.30 till about 2.00a.m.
Trying to pick up as much extra work as I can so i have a fund for extra's that will be needed when the house is finished.
Contractor managed to break one of my kitchen blinds and took the other one down. I will mention it to the drying chap as they employed the company and say I want them replaced. Meanwhile OH suggested rubbing windolene over the windows as house is empty and want to keep it secure

    Morning guys.

Loads of international news networks announcing the death of Prince Philip at the age of 96.
UK news will break the story at 8am

Very sad news if this is true :(
