I've had an email too from the French testing company that used to send out the perfume...I've finally been accepted for one of their trials again....it must be 2 years or so since the last one...but I cant work out if its for washing liquid or WUL (their grammar and description doesn't match)...either way a trial is a trial!

my other major news, Eldest son and his Gf signed up to their new tenancy this afternoon and they now have a gorgeous little pink cottage near a village just outside Bury St Edmonds.

Gf still has 2 weeks work to do for her company in Brum but she has got a work colleague to stay with. Initially she thought she would have to live at an airbandb for 2 weeks. She then starts with the new company in Cambridge at the start of May. Her new boss and I imagine numerous others live in BSE so there is a car pool for sharing the drive to work (no car share karaoke though :) )

Eldest son is still in the hinterland, still working at his base near Bristol and he does not know exactly when he is starting at his new base - this cottage is just about half way between both new work places

The back story is that Eldest son put in for his new posting last year and he put as his choices various Midlands bases. The paperwork went AWOL so by the time he resubmitted after Christmas all that was left was East Anglia  There was much wailing and gnashing of teeth as they had only been in Brum since October and GF had relocated and changed jobs so she was more central.
So she had to start job hunting yet again and fortunately she found her new job very quick.
They hadn't really settled in Brum but it was early days, sometimes it takes quite a while to get used to a new place. This cottage is completely different in all respects but the problem they had was that all the rentals in BSE had no parking or only one space so it would have caused endless problems.
Errant son went to Brum yesterday to help them pack up the flat although it was furnished so it was mainly goods and chattels. Then they went across to the new place this afternoon - new place is unfurnished so this is another new departure for them.

Its about 4 hours drive from us in a bit of the world we don't know at all so some long road trips this summer. Eldest child and her new Oh are also on this side of the country, about 2 hours from them so we will be visiting them as well :)

In the meantime both Eldest son and Gf are here next weekend so it will be a full house :D

OK, a perhaps slightly strange question.

I am hoping to decorate the kitchen shortly, once OH has plastered the holes in the ceiling.

What i want to do is change the beading around the worktops, I would like something different, preferably plastic to keep maintenance low. Does anyone know if this is available, I have been looking so long I am seeing beading in my sleep.

It needs to be roughly triangular, it is basically to fill the corner between the worktop and tiles to stop water etc getting down the back.
Its plastic quadrant you are after I think. See if there is a upvc/plastics supplier near you, they will have a stock of different sizes, but if you really get stuck, the DIY places will sell it, just less choice.

Ooooo, that would do the job, will have to see if we have any suppliers nearby.

I may be missing the point a bit here but with the rechargeable toothbrushes you don't need a stock of them,it's not like everyone needs their own handle its just separate heads that are needed.(so really it's just a case of looking out for heads when they are on offer)

When you buy the initial brush it usually comes with some spare heads, sometimes 2 sometimes 4 ....thats usually enough for everyone to have their own head.
We don't have a oral B at home, but have a colgate pro with 3 heads so each of us has our own brush but we use the collective handle.

DS has a Oral B which is something fancy for when he's at Uni but only because we were sent it to trial last year.

We do this, colour coded with nail varnish.

£70 is the inflated rrp, £35 or thereabouts is the "normal" price (as one of the models is pretty much always on offer somewhere around £35). £70 v £35 would bring the net cost down to £31.50 after the APG including 10% (or of course if you ordered for C&C and it was out of stock/rejected/returned as not what you wanted, or buy instore then return after inspecting it as not required, you would have £38.50 APG to spend ... not that any Elite would consider doing that. Remember it is a big APG for instore so will need supervisor authorisation as well as the normal authorisation, but that is fine if you are buying to match on the APG as a normal purchase :A).

You can get them £20 or less quite often when supermarkets are clearing stock after a promo period.

The heads are expensive enough though - I tend to get ours off 3Bay as you can get some 3rd party heads that do the job.

Met my middle sister today, still in good spirits and not daunted by what is to come.

Last week she had her pre op interview which went on forever, apparently they scrutinise your past medical history in every detail and sister has quite a lot of past history having done the ankle twice and also the replacement hip operation last year.

Next week she goes for the blue dye that goes into her lymph glands and then there is the op on the 19th - its stage 1 and 17mm in size so it looks like it was caught very early.
Apparently they do it as a day case and you then get sent home - even if you have drains put in - quite shocking really as the anethetic can be in your system for days so you dont know what your pain level is going to be.
2 weeks later she gets the results and then there is 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy if all has gone to plan.
In the meantime she has to go and get an exemption prescription or suchlike from the docs as you are then on the magic medicine for life

She is taking it very much matter of fact and is still determined that she will be on a hen do to Dublin at the end of May and they are planning a holiday in a cottage in August.

I wish her well. It does sound like it's been caught very early.
