    Hi :)

I've got an offer on Amex - £5 back on a £20 spend at Boots

    Possibly gift cards??

    Interesting.

On the Boots app Ive got 100 points for any purchase and extra points for a £15 purchase although it probably means no gify cards :(
Not had a look at mine yet but I had an email through so I think I have this one and I will try a gift card and maybe one physical item as well to be on the safe side

Just got back, AWOL all day - even had to walk home from the station as Oh is at some meeting or other :) My little toe blisters must be healing nicely although Ive not unplastered them yet - one day in sandals with bad results, so I put the walking trainers on for todays jaunt

Just relishing the house being empty and quiet with just me home :)

I'm not sure if beading is still something that is "in fashion"....nowadays its all sealant in the gaps or people opt for upstands.

You used to be able to go to tile shops and get edging for kitchens and round the edge of baths but I think they are not as commercially available as they used to be

most of the diy places tend to now do the range of sealants in colours so you can match the work top to the wall or tiles...I'm just wondering if a tile place might still sell something suitable?

Thought about upstands, but wouldn't suit part of the area.

Not sure about sealant, it is a nightmare to get straight surely? And doesn't it stay a bit on the soft side?

Have looked at tile places online to no avail, might have to get off my behind and pop down the industrial estate, physically look.

Glad I'm not going mad - really thought they were easier to get hold of 30 years ago lol

You are welcome, will take another look and get back to you. The other two should work though. ;) There is also free cancellation if it didn't work.

Met my middle sister today, still in good spirits and not daunted by what is to come.

Last week she had her pre op interview which went on forever, apparently they scrutinise your past medical history in every detail and sister has quite a lot of past history having done the ankle twice and also the replacement hip operation last year.

Next week she goes for the blue dye that goes into her lymph glands and then there is the op on the 19th - its stage 1 and 17mm in size so it looks like it was caught very early.
Apparently they do it as a day case and you then get sent home - even if you have drains put in - quite shocking really as the anethetic can be in your system for days so you dont know what your pain level is going to be.
2 weeks later she gets the results and then there is 5 weeks of daily radiotherapy if all has gone to plan.
In the meantime she has to go and get an exemption prescription or suchlike from the docs as you are then on the magic medicine for life

She is taking it very much matter of fact and is still determined that she will be on a hen do to Dublin at the end of May and they are planning a holiday in a cottage in August.

Not sure about sealant, it is a nightmare to get straight surely? And doesn't it stay a bit on the soft side?

Sealant is as tough as old boots...choose a colour that matches either the wall colour or the worktop colour and away you go....some of them have very good nozzles with a little spreader on the end so its almost impossible to not get a straight line assuming what you are sealing is also straight.

If you make a mistake there is a little wriggle room in order to wipe it away before it sets.....

We've refitted several kitchens in the last 5 years and never had a sealant fail yet....and again much the same with the bath sealant edging...that tends to get replaced after each tenancy not because it doesn't seal but because the tenants don't tend to clean it.

I'm not a great fan of upstands either but sometimes things go in cycles of fashion and at the moment lots of the new kitchens have them

You're certainly not going mad....30 years ago they were the thing that all kitchen fitters used.

Errant son is away, hence the atmosphere of serenity and calm here :D

He did a couple of hours struggling with his expenses forms from February yesterday morning whilst also covering the living room with paperwork and then finally set off for Birmingham only 45 mins late.
    Eldest son was not amused.

He was meeting Eldest son in Ikea to collect furniture and then Errant son helped them move as he has a big van.

Errant son has had another reply to the flurry of job applications last week, this time the offer of an interview from a centre - not even exactly sure where this place is, possibly kent but its in the midst of nowhere. I have to go and figure this out for logistical purposes.
He has an interview next week, a week Friday in mid wales but he goes across on Thursday afternoon and he is staying overnight.
This new interview is the following week.

Well Locarr will be pleased to hear that I have again had a trip to S and been met with all the reduction labels for the toiletries and bare shelves...

This week there seems to have been a selection of Head and shoulders shampoos...namely the citrus one 500ml...50p

There are also some perfume sets dkny woman I think that are now down to £13 from £22 but I am wondering they may have further to drop
And the mandura spa stuff still seems to be hovering around half price with the exception of some bubble bath ones which have also now gone down to 50p....

All still a bit of a lottery as to what's in each store...and I'm still convinced the stuff never gets to the shelf!
