Chopped half of it up and popped it straight in the a huge pan of bolognaise sauce.

Makes all the difference:)

Well done, but I'm with you on the white wine and cream - silly Marry Berry!
My DGD1 chose her as her 'inspiration' for a form project last year and I'm pleased to say that Marry responded well to her letter. Oddly enough a couple of weeks later they bumped into her in their local House of Fraser, she was very lovely with the girls. Even so, while I like her fish pie recipe that uses white wine I can't go there with the bolagnese.
