very glad the stethoscope reappeared - it must have been gut wrenching when it disappeared

Are stethoscopes really expensive - over £100? Are there standard models or do they vary? Ive just realised I know nothing at all about stethoscopes ...

It was, she thinks someone needed one quick and took it while she was off doing something else. Apparently there is a bit of stigma wearing one around your neck until you are qualified so it gets left at times.

Yes there are different models for specialities like cardiology and paediatrics which can be over £100. Students have a basic model usually between £40 to £60 and she got offer as student for the free engraving. :)

The burning question of the day is are the hens out yet?

    https://www.gov.uk/government/news/avian-influenza-bird-flu-in-winter-2016-to-2017
    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-4011538/Eggs-hens-kept-indoors-labelled-free-range-result-European-bird-flu-outbreak.html

A while back I listened to a radio programme which said that the key date was March 1st to get the free range hens outside again following on from the various avian flu outbreaks.
Whilst they are inside they eat more (boredom I suppose) and more injuries and disease so eventually this reflects in egg prices.

Also all those free range eggs we buy are not technically free range at the moment but producers can still call them free range for up to 12 weeks. There are a lot of co oped up hens that are coming up to that 12 week deadline

Emerging adult question of the day, on being asked to check when his debit card expires: How do I do that?

    me: By looking at it!

That's a good thing in a way. As he did not know. He has never used it to buy stuff on line. So not a Money waster.
