If there are any SD beauty card holders on here, check your emails! I just received one telling me I can get a bottle of own brand hair spray when I show my card. That'll do nicely for my Christmas hampers :)

me too! Thanks for this, I only look for their emails on Thursdays so I would have missed this one :D

They are gorgeous 3 Dogs, berry looks like a cuddly teddy bear, Noella looks very gracious, has she not fully recovered from her time in Romania? do you know her background?

Berry is just a big cuddly bear, though he doesn't do kisses - well you wouldn't expect a kiss from a bear I suppose would you ;) Juliana, their rescuer in Bucharest Romania, used to feed three 'gangs of strays' for about 2-3 years, as so many starving strays about. Berry was in her Market Place Gang, being the joint leader of the pack with Blue Eyes. Noela was in another of her gangs of strays

Four Paws chairy used to do free neutering days and she captured as many of her strays as she could and got them neutered then released them back to their home areas, having nowhere to keep them herself. At this time both Berry and Noela were neutered, though Noela already had at least one puppy by then

When the dog killing law came in September 2013, everything changed in Romania, as dog were rounded up in the most cruel ways and placed in 'death camp' shelters. So Juliana caught as many of her strays as possible and started to find homes abroad for them to be adopted into. She got Berry off the street straight away, as well as Noela's puppy (who is now in Scotland) but could not capture Noela, who ended up being caught by the dog catchers and flung into Pallady 'shelter' but Juliana managed to pay to get her out of there - this was Christmas 2013, hence her name

Pupies and cute dogs tended to get adopted easily and these were transported mainly to UK through official legal channels. So the older dogs, and the problem dogs, got left behind in a 'pension' as they call a private yard/shelter organised by Juliana and a friend. Berry was lame from elbow displasia and just when he was due to come over to an animal shelter over here (NAWT) it was found that he had stage 3 heartworm which was very serious. It was at this time that I said to Juliana that I would love to take one of her dogs, but I couldn't as I couldn't walk them due to my arthritis. She said, oh but our Berry Bear doesn't need walks, just somewhere with access to a garden where he can see out his days in comfort. And so, she hooked me :rotfl: Berry underwent 3 months of expensive, intensive treatment which involved arsenic  and was eventually given the OK to travel in May 2014

He came to me and has been surrounded by love ever since. It was a year later that I said that I would take another elderly dog and Juliana suggested Noela who had been held back by her fear. I agreed to have her and she arrived 31st January 2015. She was absolutely terrified on the journey and had bitten the transporter more than once. I had to get a friend, whose new blind dog I had picked up on the same day, to help me carry Noela into the house in her crate so no chance of her getting away

Noela settled into our odd routine and I can honestly say that both of them have been totally clean in the house except for once when ill. Although she is over the moon to see me after I have been out or when I pick them up from where they board when I am away. She is still terrified of other people except me and Joy at kennels, but plays with other dogs there and loves being brushed now

She still has a long way to go but I have never rushed her, and never will

Now that was a long post

I've had a quick catchup but I've visitors in an hour so need to rush. Happy birthday Tweets and Midwinter. Bubbs, I hope all has gone well today.

Weekend with Mum is looking up. Cheap tickets for the ballet at the Lowry on Saturday night (though she is deaf she really enjoys this) and we are going to see a StudyBed on Sunday evening as I am thinking this might transform my spare room, give me more cupboard space (3 more IKEA tall wardrobes), a sewing space and an organised-looking spare room. It's expensive, but if it does all that I think it will be worth it.

Just sat waiting for a phone call from the hospital. So I will post while I can:)

He's still there from 8.30 this morning. The doctors decided early that he would need an operation but couldn't do anything until the swelling went down. He was due to go down(apologies:D) at 2.45 but everything must be running late. I called in straight after work to be told that he was still in theatre but should be ready to come home in a few hours.

    I have butterflies:o

If I disappear I WILL return later for some birthday cake.

Hope the birthday girls are putting on a buffet...it's save me cooking:)

Hope Mr TM ok when you pick him up.

The feeling you get when you have done the annual (bi-annual ...) V1rginM/Sky cancellation dance ... and are wondering if you have accepted the deal too soon  .

I have got a good price, but have seen others have secured better deals, so am left wondering whether I could have held out for more (for less).

If I have £30 e vouchers, buy 10 madam guillotine's (£50) and £10 fillers, so spend of £60, £30 vouchers and £30 debit card. What if no guillotines? would I get £20 vouchers back (£10 taken for fill.ers) and £30 debit card payment not taken, AND an APG for £41?

Confusing I know, but Should only be charged £10, just unsure with evouchers involved in payment

I did think of this, and to be safe I put in a £40 fragrance. The Venus was oos so this covered the excess vouchers.
I returned the fragrance a couple of days later, they just put it on my debit card :)

Or you could stock up on essentials like washing powder that compares well - Fairy looks good ;)
