Oh yes I had a school bag , cookery basket with a plastic floral cover and sports kit in another bag and we d have to walk to other schools to play netball,it's a wonder we wouldn't be knackered by the time we got there. I was goal keeper as I was tall at 5 ft 7 , wouldn t be tall nowadays . Funnily enough Darren married the niece of my PE teacher years later. Small world eh.

Oh yes i forgot about them, bet mum still has it and we cooked proper food, not like now take a piza base and topping:eek:

it was called a Flatley drier, for some reason my Mum hid her housekeeping money in ours!

    afternoon all

Gosh its been a day for nostalgia. I think I missed anything trend setting in the 60s or 70s - my parents only came to the UK in the 40s and 50s, money was non existent and they applied the same sort of parenting skills as if they were still living at the back of beyond small town Ireland. I was obnoxious and rebellious as a result and must have given them a terrible life.
I was working as a Saturday girl in Mr !!!!!! at 14, at which point my mother thought I had enough money to be able to cloth myself - I think I was on £2 a week.
I had this dreadful polyester dress from C&A - my mothers favourite department store she went all the way to Wolverhampton to get to - it was green on the bottom and yellow on the top - the dreadfulness of it was imprinted on my brain forever.

I think our mums were sisters.... we had to have paper rounds when we were 12 when pocket money stopped and jobs from 14 when clothing stopped being bought.

  • Not been able to stay on top of thread, so bare ;) with me if I repeat what’s already posted.

O2 thread is speculating changes coming, IMHO chinese whispers, I would wait and see.

Booger King App has a renewed offer, App only. 9 chicken no-gets for 99p
It states not combined with other offers, but two separate transactions would solve that. Combine with the 50p fries, a cheap snack/lunch for £1.49, take your own drink or get cheap juice from Poundland etc.
