    Good afternoon Elite
Taping Top of the Pops and trying desperately to stop the tape when the DJ started waffling and start it again for the next song :rotfl::rotfl:

Never mind that, you'd have to explain cassette players to some lol. We had a tape recorder too. Reel to Reel

Changing the tv channel by getting up out of the chair, walking over to the tv set and pressing one of three buttons.

    Morning all :)

And after that came a long lead with a button on the end to switch channel, so you didn't have to get up :rotfl:

Corona and crisps with the little blue salt twist in them

I love these crisps but without putting the salt on them

I'll say paper knickers from Bainbridges in Newcastle

Talking about kids having phones, youngsters have it so easy these days when dating. When I was in my later teens, no chance of contacting anyone by phone as not everyone had them. We didn'y have a house phone, and yes it was a party line with our neighbour, till I was in my twenties, so if you met a boy and arranged to meet him the next evening/week and your train was late, etc, or his was, that was it, you lost contact, and the chance of a great romance was gone lol. I often think about how things might have worked out different in a few situations if we'd had phones

Rhos, hope your sore throat improves quickly

Snap, glad you're getting out and about a bit now

tweets, you've moved off your 3 stone 3.5 again, well done, but well done anyway for sticking around your target for so long

It has been snowing here, just tiny flakes that have not settled, but my goodness, it is cold :snow_grin

Was that when Bainbridges was in Market Street, before they moved to Eldon Square Binns took it over? I remember going for tea there and models would walk round the cafe showing off clothes. My aunty used to work in the 'furs' department there - that's something you don't see now.

Or you arranged to ring them from a phone box and had to press button A to connect or button B to get your money back.

Thank you all so much for all the good wishes. Thankfully I have been given a clean (ish) bill of health - medication for the next three months but no cancer and after my scan did not even have to have a biopsy. Massively relieved. Love you all xx

    Brilliant news HG :)
