I may be in the minority here but I think its all a bit wrong, its not that long ago and as you say the girl is only 18 . can you imagine going into college or work and everyone gossiping about it . not knowing its your old life . how must she feel. Even though she is not really in it , I feel its her story to tell when and if she feels the time is right. Not the minute she is 18 a TV company to drag it all up for her :( .

    I agree with you rhosy.

The poor girl, I wish her well and think that as a society we have a duty to continue to protect her when her mother failed her so badly.

I think this topic should have been left totally alone.

I guess you are in the majority rhos not the minority....but nevertheless I watched it. :o

I think I might have heard some of this and felt it was disingenuous ...for without Shannon there wasn't a story. Plus if they really felt this way, they could have left out the little framed photographs which the camera kept straying to. They bore a remarkable resemblance to her as a child.
And her mother too....clearly with some learning difficulties/ mental health issues poked fun at....at times:o

Anyway I watched it but couldn't help feeling a bit voyeuristic:o

The makers of the programme knew what they were doing... it was an easy target. If they had made a programme about the McCans they would have been in court so quickly.

Off-topic, from money-saving, but then I suppose this is the shopping and chat thread (not that I ever "chat" in any way other than analysing things which isn't really chat), how do you know the scenes were "spot on"?

Just from memory savvy.....they've managed to get look alike actors who have obviously worked hard to perfect the accents. The news conference was exactly as I remembered it and the ad hoc interview outside the house. I'm sure I remembered the march through the streets as well but not as clearly.

I really enjoyed it Nellie....did you?

People at work were saying there was a big twist at the end so I got myself psyched up for it....which was a bit of a disappointment.

I've never watched so much TV.....:D

Last night I started watching the Shannon Matthews drama and some of the scenes were spot on, as I remember them being portrayed on the news at the time. Just wondered whether Shannon herself was involved? Did she need to give permission even? Can't imagine how she must have felt watching it....if she did. Second part next week:o I thought it was tonight:o
I watched the shannon matthews drama. Very good acting. Shannons name has been changed and she now has a new family and identity. Very sad and traumatic for shannon. Cant believe we have people like that in the Uk who would live and treat their child like she did.

It was this youngs gastro scampi tails

Womble 8/2 A v M.....Savvy something for you to look at...

    1x Kellogg's Fruit 'n Fibre (750g) £2.99 £2.50
    1x ASDA Baker's Selection Big Eat Large White Rolls (6pk) £1.00 £0.50
    1x Young's Wholetail Scampi (220g) £4.00 £2.00

I don't know why they only bought 1 wholetail scampi as it is 2F£5...So an extra quid would have given them double the amount..Nothing else purchased in the offer.....But.....Morrisons price takers have messed up as wholetail scampi is £5:83......They are comparing it against youngs scampi bites which is currently on offer for £2...Seems like a good time to eat a bit of scampi tail.....

I am sure someone will work out the price....but this is one for Savvy to look at...
