    Cupboard :D

    :j:j

Waiting for my train home but just got my mark back for general portfolio. Got a First! I strongly suspect that I've got the highest mark in the class because I know the marks of 3 others, 2 of them possibly the strongest in the class.

    1 down 4 to go!

Should add that this was potential downfall as it was a range of genres and I only consider myself a landscape photographer.

Well done Westie :j:j:j:j:j:j You must be soooo pleased!

Is anyone on streetlife please and have you had the email today regarding the move to Nextdoor?

It looks like one website has swallowed up the other :(

I registered this afternoon with nextdoor and I got a banner at the top which says
Welcome to the Nextdoor xxxx pilot website.
The pilot will expire in 11 days unless 6 more verified members join.

Apparently there are 805 households around here - not sure how they come to that conclusion as mainly its 2 roads plus our lane . The parish border is actually across the railway line and cuts through a housing estate on the other side but really the housing estate is closer to the town than the village.

On streetlife on the right hand side it says I've got about 1100 neighbours - covering 2 towns and various villages inbetween but we are going to loose access to Streetlife in 2 weeks
by which time we wont have Nextdoor either.

I tried moving my address to the co op in the village but apparently it does not have a local website at all as no one in the village is on Streetlife or Nextdoor

I don't know if its me being dim but I cant see a way to expand the boundaries on Nextdoor

I've not checked my emails but went to sign in to Streetlufe, the openenjng page says

    Welcome to Streetlife + Nextdoor

New members are being encouraged to join Nextdoor, old members of Streetlife have the option to transfer their profile to Nextdoor. Maybe Streetlufe is closing. I'll be checking my emails when I can get on co,outer :)
There's no place like home :)

Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

Postie brought my superdrug order today with 3 doves (paid for with points and not money) :j

I can understand the addiction to them - very nice little sets - I might be tempted again.

To redress the balance I had a bit of a cull this morning, some make up was too urgh and went on the fire, some plastics went into the recycling basket, a few nice odds and sods surfaced and they went into the charity shop bric a brac box and an entire bag full of everyday toiletries is lined up ready for food banks.

So at least more went out than came in :D

registering seems to be straightforward, just need a new password.

I've put a message on my streetlife group to see if anyone else is having any problems - I don't think most people check emails daily so a few will miss the swap over altogether

Toiletries....I am trying to stay away from all the testers and so post things...lots of little bits and pieces that actually stop me from using full bottles!

I am acutely aware that a batch of testing products may arrive in the next couple of weeks as I do some testing of organic stuff for a beauty award...I love the packages they send and last year I was lucky enough to do it twice....but its one of those things that then sets you up for the year going forward,so no need to buy as they are generous with what they send...the downside being that you can't actually specify the products you want...so whilst I got a lovely lip balm last year I may not be quite so lucky this year ...hence me needing to fall back on buying a boots lippy soon!

I've spent today assessing the food situation....I am confident that this month Frugal Feb will go out the window,it seems like not only are we running short on some freezer stuff, store cupboard things also need replacing soon too....but over the past few months I have certainly emptied out a lot that has been languishing in the back of beyond so from that point of view its been worthwhile....at least there is some form of food rotation now taking place.

I have also taken on board what mhoc was saying about the £20 valentines meal deals last week and have decided that whilst its not a tradition I want to break by going out we could compromise with a normal £10 deal and use a bottle of stored fizz ...perhaps buying some pate to go with it to make up 3 courses....at least that way it's unlikely to cost the full £20 and we get a little more choice on the extras.

I have shared that pain Snap...I can give you the name and details of a very good joiner who can make you some...trouble is when we had ours done a few years back the bill for 7 doors fitted and with hinges/handles did run well into 4 figures.....
    nice though...........

The problem is you cant even cut new off the peg doors down nowadays as they tend to be hollow!

hope you haven't made the same mistake as us whereby the old doors went on the skip before we realised that each hole left was an obscure size. With hindsight I think we may have "made over " what was there....but as they say thats a wonderful thing...and actually I do indeed like the new doors too.
