I could though do with some ideas and thoughts about birthday presents, any ideas anyone has will be most welcome :D

I've got to come up with four in the next 4 weeks - yes all in the weeks prior to the wedding. Yes I should have saved some ideas from Christmas but I had hardly enough ideas at Christmas. There is no budget in theory, it just has to be something interesting, unusual, quirky, something that they would not buy themselves ....
We rather over did the alcohol themed presents at Christmas especially the gin and whisky flavoured ones.

Errant son - outdoors type, something not too bulky as I will probably have to post it down if I can figure out where he is living

Eldest childs BF - has a big 30 birthday, very sophisticated tastes

Eldest sons GF - no idea but again it will probably have to be something lightweight that I can post

OH - has his 60  - OMG, so much older than me :rotfl:

I saw one of these on telly a couple of weeks ago, spent the rest of the time trying to resist buying one. You can get a really cheap one (about £8) or an expensive one (around £40), but it looks highly amusing.

Morning all, ordered 4 of those bird feeders Snap showed us yesterday, 2 daffodil & 2 poppy. I don't drive so having them delivered is a bonus for me, even though they may have been cheaper elsewhere.
So thats 4 Christmas presents sorted.............. bet they will be the very devil to wrap! xx

Can you imagine though, those people that can't resist fiddling with what's on the coffee table, they would just have to turn it on :rotfl::rotfl:

I'd better get up now and go looking for another coffee  as it's the end of the month of my tablet strips I need to sit and sort next month out today :o. It's a job I hate and have been thinking about the pharmacy service of putting them in strips ready to use  Maybe a good idea :)

    See you all later xx

    Good morning all....

I read with interest the blog on the woman who only spent £23 on toiletries last year....and all I can say is I still think I can do better!

I have worked out over the weekend the areas that I dont have much stock in and its Deo,toothpaste and possibly lipstick...everything else seems to be running at a reasonable or good stock so with what will invariably also come in by the way of freebies and testing I may even go as far to say I really will try to just have minimal spend this year.

An update on S from the weekend .....
    I did 6 shops 5 for petrol and a £20 instore.
Instore I had a 400 points wys £20 so picked up what I thought would be some ill fitting jeans and bread milk and eggs taking total to £20.70.
The jeans fit far better than I hoped so actually I'm keeping them and they actually work out cheaper than the ones I probably would have bought instead.
    points wise I got 3 x 200 1 x 500 1x1000 and 1x 2000....I also wombled 2 x 200 from the ashtray outside the petrol station!

so with all the points I make that £24.50 back on a £70 spend....probably better than I had anticipated, but not enough to really make me think wow.

I'm really no good at coming up with present ideas for mhoc....afterall she is the one along with Snap who seem to come up with the ideas of what to buy my challenging recipients!

Anyone who is still interested in the mr shoes shampoo bonanza....I looked yesterday in my local medium retail park sized one and lo and behold they seemed to have restocked lots of the empty spaces...so do keep looking....you will be proud of me though,I DID resist.....

Hope everyone has a lovely day...

Sarah...mobiles,can you get an insurance package for your DS's phone...a lot of bank accounts offer them as benefits nowadays so it might be an idea to see if either his account or yours supports one.

Our DS has had real challenges with the screens on his phone...3 replacements since sept, but I think he's now learning to protect it as we havent heard of any further incidents since before christmas....sadly the screen replacement isn't cost effective on the insurance as there's a £50 excess and hey ho thats the cost of a new screen.
frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!

    2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend

Yes it does seem to be one of my special talents – finding good quality and unusual ideas for presents for other people but not myself!
For instance at Christmas I found the dark side deal for a lovely picnic basket – something eldest sons GF always wanted so I gave him the link for it so he could get it for her for Christmas.
I also found a Groupon deal for an evening brewery tour with samples etc at Brewdog so I messaged eldest son thinking he might fancy it. He asked me for the link and it became another of his GFs presents 
Then at Christmas eldest child said she had not yet got her big brother a present. I said I’d seen another Groupon deal for a Japanese restaurant close to where they live for a Japanese afternoon tea with champagne so I gave her the link. (eldest son and his GF went to Japan in December 2015 so it was very apt)
So that was at least 3 gift ideas I came up with that I passed along, leaving me without any ideas …. 
