Emerald...thank you for sharing the trapeze details....what a fantastic experience it must have been.
Many stories to tell, and so many people and places.
It must have been very hard after his accident to leave all that behind...does he miss it,or was it coming to a natural end?

Would you have liked to have been part of it all when he was travelling or was it better that you did re acquaint after everything had finished?

Sorry for all the questions...but its such an interesting story....and feel free to ignore me if you'd rather not answer my ramblings!

I think he does miss it on the quiet and says he thinks it was someone else as can't believe it was him especially when he has a job getting up the stairs etc.

Not at all LEJC like I say I'm proud of him and all he s achieved over the years . He did go back to the circus eventually as a clown but as you can imagine not the same what's the word kudos. Anyone can be a clown I suppose but not anyone can be a trapeze artist.

It was probably coming to a natural end by then just like footballers really they can't go on forever can they ? He said to me that he thought he was invincible ( sadly not ) and maybe he was a bit careless,I don't know.

He s amazed he s still alive after all the stunts etc. He also did the wall of death on a motorbike and used to ride a big police bike along the bends where you bank to the side and almost
    Flat on the road.

To be honest I don't think I would have liked that life I'd have been a nervous wreck lol but would have enjoyed some of it no doubt. He even used to chauffeur the Duke of Grosvenor around. He was good at fighting if the need arose. His dad taught the army lads unarmed combat and he taught him too. Sadly he died at age 53 I think one Boxing Day with a chest infection but that's another story.

Remember the film with Patrick Swayze ( the title escapes me just now) where he was a bouncer in a night club well hubby was just like him ,and his brother owned a nightclub here at the time. He even knows how to kill someone with two fingers

If I can remember anything else I ll post it :)
Wow, what a life!! but please make sure he keeps those 2 fingers to himself!!

Well I thought I was doing really well with my frugalness, but as needed to stay near the bathroom :p this weekend, due to either the side effects of medication or my c@rp cooking, my dearly beloved went shopping to buy bread, milk and broth mix.... he returned £62 later, very pleased with his bargains:eek:

On the plus side, new, to us, car bought and paid for and at least £35 saved on insurance despite it's value being 14 times more than the old one?? Hopefully £35 cashback to come on top:j
Home insurance renewed.. £30 saving and again possible £30 cash back:j
Young neighbour came to speak to me about bank accounts and I have referred her for a nationwide account so we should both receive £100 in the near future. :j

I did go across the road to the pub yesterday (it is very close to home!!) and our friend was telling us that that he and his DW had been shopping and come back over £200 lighter.. it was only a weekly shop for 3 adults and they had been to Aldi and home bargains, the only 'extra' item was an ironing board:eek: I now think that if I spent that in a month I have been careless.

On the rare occasions we ve been in a shop together I've seen the sheer bewilderment on some of these young assistants on the check out :o
