I went to the chip shop and asked for a jumbo sausage.
The bloke said "it won't be long"
    I said "it better be!"

This reminded me of the day (many years ago) when I took my old granddad out for Sunday lunch. When the waiter came, granddad said he couldn't make up his mind between chicken or turkey, and the waiter said that there was not much difference between them.
Granddad looked at him over the top of his glasses and said sternly 'At these prices, young man, there better had be!'

The chap I work with goes on a Sun holiday 1 week a month for 5 months of the year. He stays in Weymouth and upgrades directly with the park after booking. He reckons it costs him about £35.00 for the 4 nights. He has a small dog and in some parks they are allowed.

All this talk is making me regret not getting the sun paper

I have never booked these holidays or really looked at the details, are they worth the money? We are stuck to school holidays which no doubt limits the options?

    Thanks

    I think you save lots.
Just check out prices direct with, say haven. Then look at what it costs with the sun.

We booked a Sun holiday a few years back and just used it as a base, a place to sleep. Ideal if you want to go out and about :D

Thats exactly what we do, we only want to have somewhere to sleep and make a cuppa:D but we have had brand new caravans a couple of times and paid no more than £75 mon-fri but you have to remember the service charge , we dont get entertainment passes as usualy out all day so want to chill in the evenings where we want.
There is also weeks where you dont have to pay service charges

Morning all! Hope all is well in Elite land! I've been dipping in and out whilst trying to make the most of my last weekend of freedom before starting my new job tomorrow! :D Been visiting my parents as I didn't get chance to spend much time with them over Christmas, and DH is in NYC for work. Fortunately I persuaded him to take his new walking boots and decent coat as it started snowing there not long after he landed! He was going to wear office shoes and a light mac. I know he's more northern than me, but really :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

What are the Sun holidays like please? Is it caravan park holidays for families? DH and I don't have kids but we're looking at ways of having cheap day or weekend trips away so we can have a break from work without breaking the bank.

Off to T shortly. Forgot to check the Freddo situation yesterday and I suspect it's too late now. At least my waistline will be better off if they're all gone :rotfl:
We use the holiday to take the dog. Just me the wife and the dog. You don't have to have the entertainment passes or linen. Which will keep the costs down. So all you pay is about £40 plus gas and electric. That amount at haven is £26 at haven for 3 nights
The above prices are for 4 people though it's just me and dw. We do have to pay extra for the dog.

All this talk is making me regret not getting the sun paper

I've been on a couple - Weston super Mare was good, the year I went there they said on arrival they had overbooked the 'Sun' caravans so they put me and my friend in a brand new one instead. Excellent base for touring the area. :D

DD's been on a few, Morecambe and Newquay and others, has always found them good, although she always upgrades and also she buys the linen packs - you get the beds made up ready for you that way. Kids love it, they do all the activities and the kids club evenings.

I've also done a week in Devon from a travelodge sale - strung together five bookings at £12 a night in the same place. Got a family room for the extra space/sofa. Booked in the January, went mid-June.
