Oh, and another one that has been in before, just like a bladdy repeat. Typical TV nowadays!

On This Morning they said this was being done on purpose. Known conflicting personalities have been chosen as it apparently makes better TV ...

Was going to the hbsc account this year but after anon's detailed description think I will give this one a miss.

Don't let me put you off - just be prepared for it to take a little (lot) more effort than other accounts. £200 makes the effort worthwhile in my book! I am sure some people manage to open without incident ...

snap here with HSBC as well, in all about a month to fully open.

I am wondering now wether to just close the account altogether - we have got a small branch in our local town so I could just pop in and do it.

Or use it as a donor account for switching but I've got a spare Nationwide acc ready for that

Did you do the switch in after all that? If not, and it was down to their shambles of an application process, complain. Email details are available on https://www.hsbc.co.uk/1/2/contact-and-support/feedback-and-complaints

Outline the issues you faced and highlight that you were looking to move your banking to them but due to all the delays you are concerned that you no longer qualify for the offer. I would think they will come back with an offer to let you take up the switching offer (that bit was easy enough, a phone call and just ensure you have the debit card of the account you are switching in to hand). Don't lose sight of why you were doing it - £200 :D - so now it is opened you may as well chase the switching bonus ;).

It looks like Air Wick Crystal Air Blackberry Fig is off too (that wasn't an exhaustive list) and the bigger pack of Rakusen's Matzo Crackers may be off as well now - most Ms it seems to me just stock the smaller pack but I already have my specialist Rakusen's store in the line up for [Strike]tomorrow[/Strike] later today:eek::rotfl:!
