There's plenty of whoopsied turkeys knocking about:rotfl:

God knows what that would represent. On another site I read that the grooms parents are supposed to delivery a whole pig to symbolise the brides virginity.... another site said 6 cans of tinned pork! hilarious.

    The

This is the best Betrothal gifts list I have seen...

The betrothal gifts are packed in a multi-tiered wedding basket that is borrowed from a chinese wedding cake shop and typically include:

    western and chinese wedding cakes,
    two bottles of brandy,
even numbered of tangerines or oranges,
peanut candies for a teochew bride and rice candies for a hokkien bride,
at least six tins of canned pork legs or a whole roast pig for cantonese bride,
two pairs of dragon and phoenix candles 龙凤烛,
betrothal jewellery from the groom’s parents to the bride.
Cantonese will have the dragon and phoenix bangle 龙凤琢 and the teochew four items of gold 四点金.

    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I wonder if Next will deliver one of these boxes for me! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I think I am actually nervous. I have a fear of marriage, and now there is one of my babies thinking about it, and her family are very strict and we do not understand the culture. Although I have read that the culture of the man takes precedence..... so if he was going to be rude he could just follow the English culture.... it will make things considerably easier... ooh especially as the brides father pays for the wedding!..:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I was going to say clear out anything unwanted or dubious such as really old packages of veg. But also I would clear out items of lesser value if it came to that.

You should have at least a couple of days' grace, Sue, as the chickens will have a fridge life of some days before needing to be frozen. Gives you time to sort some solutions.

I do admire your mojo for doing this.

Nowadays I have to steer clear from doing similar things for myself, as I know from bitter experience that if I have too much of anything stashed and stored, I actually end up not wanting any of it at all.

Sorry for the late reply have just put Mum to bed and got home.
No veg in freezers, all meat, fish and chicken. May be some old stuff I can get rid of, but things never go back in the same space they came out of.

Saver sue have you collected your chickens? My order went pear shaped, they didn't have anything I ordered, subbed it all for small ones at triple the price [/QUOTE]

Collecting in the morning, have a feeling they won't have 12 Corn Fed Chickens :( I thought they had to honour the price if they give you subs?

I have a solar powered one above our front door which gives enough light to see to lock and unlock the door but never found one bright enough for the back garden, so hoping this does the trick.

    Options List

    Thanks for the list vouchercrazy

    1) Buy an extra freezer:D
    NO ALREADY HAVE THREE

    2) Clear out any old stuff you know you will not use
    YES, GOOD PLAN

    3) Friends and family freezers, probably not an option this time of year
    NOT AN OPTION

    4) Take out any large items, defrost, cook and take off the bone for example legs of lamb or large joints of gammon, portion up and refreeze after cooking
EVERYTHING IS ALREADY PORTIONED AND BONES REMOVED

    5) Re package and label frozen food for example fish fingers/burgers
    ALWAYS RE-PACKAGE EVERYTHING AND LABEL

Can anyone else add to the list please

    6) MAYBE THEY WON'T HAVE THEM IN STOCK :rotfl:
