morning all
I hope everyone had a peaceful Christmas day
Eldest child is still zonked out with Treacle cat so I am doing a bit if a catch up.
If our little Waitrose was open I woukd have forced everyone out of the house for take away coffees and walkies around the pond - mind you its not 13 degrees like yesterday ...
I suppose I could put a case up for a trip up to Sainsbobs with the recyling (but actually I have a few Greenjinn items on a list) but everyone seems content enough to dose about just yet ...
Eldest child arrived 23rd, slightly delayed train, wolfed down a huge plate of mince and tatties, good as gold she has been, no arguements or falling out, perfect house guest and quite a lot of wedding stuff gone over.
Eldest son has messaged and face timed us before Christmas and for ages on Christmas day - Him and GF flew out on 17th for an extended stay at GFs mums place, small town with loads of extended family and friends so they have seem to be having a lovely time. They are coming to us on the 30th before driving down to Wales for New Year with friends.“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Good morning I hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas.
My favourite glitches this year havd been the morries £1 turkeys, their £3 gammon, their granola and yoghurt bundle. Ocados coke party bundle a couple of weeks ago wasn't bad either but my favourite had to be the vertbaudet glitch. I've got a bag full, of baby clothes, blankets and a towel. I had intended buying a baby bath to put them all in but even choosing a baby bath is a minefield so I might be back to a basket for that one! Oh how did i forget the m n s vests! It really has been a good year and let's hope 2017 doesn't disappoint.
I'm also enjoying the cash back on the baby food, I've got a box full already and I only started a few weeks ago thanks to BQ guidance and I'm extremely late to the hipp party but I've managed 12 so better than none.
Enjoy your day everyone, I can't believe people are shopping today.0 -

our errant youngest son is another issue altogether.
He has now disowned us altogether, cut himself off from us, not heard from him now in 3 months, although Ive messaged him a few times with no reply. We know nothing whatsoever about his life or anything he is doing. You have to let them live their lives though and do whatever they need to do.
I sent down a big box of his Christmas presents and cards etc including some for his GF, which again we know nothing about, he has never discussed her with us.
Technically we dont even know where he lives, its only because he sent me a screen shot of a letter he had from the car insurance company people (he put us down as 2nd and 3rd names, didnt bother to ask us but the insurance company needed our details)
It was only by accident the day we were going away in August that I found out he was moving from one flat to another.
I know the Christmas box arrived but he never bothered to message us to let us know.
So on Christmas eve we get a postcard from York to say Happy Christmas - only posted second class on Thursday. i knew he would not be home for Christmas - I really had no idea what his plans were but I sort of assumed he was going to his mates and his Gf in Wales who has a big extended family and a cabin so he would be there.
We had no idea he was heading north - driving from Kent, stopping very briefly in York, not even for a day. Eldest child and her BF were also driving up to York the same day but by the time they arrived errant son and his GF had set off again ...
Then I was messaged to say Merry Christmas and that they were in Fort William so I checked his FB page and they were in Wetherspoons that evening.
He also said he wanted to come and see us before New Year - its amazing how some people only seem to remember they have families one day a year.
He also said he loved us but I just put that down to the drink talking
Christmas day we had a message wishing up hapoy Christmas and asking if it was OK to ring later so I said Ok but our home phone is on the blink so we missed a call later. I just messaged him to say this and just to wish happy Christmas. It would have been a very awkward call, no idea what you say to someone who you know nothing about anymore.
I imagine his phone is mostly switched off to conserve power and possiblt a bad signal anyway because I dont think he has been online since.
So Christmas Day they were walking in Fort William, 3 degree temps (it was 13 degrees here in Cheshire even in the evening) sleeping in that van of his in laybys ( no washing or toilet facilities)
He put a picture up of their Christmas dinner - 2 penguins and 2 pot noodles - what on earth is that supposed to mean.
Not heard anything more today“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

I'll be honest I'm going shopping today. Going to Westfield of all places! I have an awkward bra size and hoping M&S have some reduced onesIn my mind, it will never be as bad as that time I went to Oxford Street on boxing day :rotfl:
Hope you all had good'uns yesterday!'I solemnly swear that I am up to no good'0 -

Good morning Elite.
The anticipation (and fear) as a parent that Father Christmas has not brought what the children were expecting, and the potential disappointment that it isn't enough ....
... replaced by relief, happiness and joy when they open their presents and everyone seems happy :A.
Operation All Preent and Correct 2016 complete ... and we have not even had breakfast yet (well, apart from chocolate)

Good post, reflects the view of many parents on the big day. Wait until they are all grown up..... :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:our errant youngest son is another issue altogether.
