The best bit is collecting them from the station - we have been doing the station run now for almost 10 years since eldest child went to uni
The worst bit is when you have to take them back to the station again - even though they might have driven you bats inbetween times it always seems a bit empty and sad when they set off again ...
We are just about to pick up our elder son for me the station. Younger son will be picked up at 10pm.....excited to see them both :j0 -
What is the secret recipe then?:D:D
I have done s0d all as couldnt be bothered to start baking once my sister went:o
Mhoc, Happy Anniversary :T
LEJC, enjoy the time with your DS x
Just make them the way my mum did. Add 15-20% of sage and onion stuffing (made up first) to the sausagemeat and mix together well. Mum made them that way to make the meat 'stretch' as funds were very limited when we were growing up. When finances improved a bit so that she didn't have to stretch the meat, everyone said that they preferred the old way.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Congratulations mhoc on your anniversary, how nice that one of your sons were born on the same day!
he never did have any sense of timing.
He was due at Christmas and I even had an appointment to start things a week after Christmas if nothing happened.
On the Sunday morning a week before Christmas I thought something was happening so we packed up belongings and the eldest child, stopped at the newsagents for batteries and then dropped eldest child off at the babysitter, all very calm and normal.
Up we went to the hospital, fortunately at the time you didn't need to feed a parking metre or things might have got seriously delayed and things might have turned out differently.
We booked in and I was taken to a room, all of a sudden all hell broke loose, eldest son was about to be born and nothing was ready.
He arrived within 45 mins of arriving at the hospital “Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
For anyone in northeast, Asd@ B@ldon has the walnuts for 50p per bag. Dates are July 17. They also had 300g bags of salted almonds for 50p - dates Jan 17 & brazil nuts with shells on for 50p a net. All in fruit isles n different stands. There were also some gift bags of smoked nuts, chocolate nuts and mixed fruit & nuts for 75p - bags quite small but I got 1 of each for OH.0

Very true. I am not looking forward to DS1 not being home, but his GF is now going to him for Christmas which is nice.
DS2 has been away for a week, just rang to say he's stuck on the motorway as his clutch is playing up. OH jumped in the car and went.... god knows why I pay for the AA. I have missed him whilst he was away.... not god he is hard work!
DS3 is going to a party at his friends house, this is really lovely as his friend went travelling 3 years ago and fell really ill he was flown home, and had tests he has ME and another condition, he was bed ridden for 2.5 years. All of his friends kept going to see him and gradually this year he has been able to move, then get out of bed. Today is a massive step as he is having a party.
It does make you realise how lucky we are to have healthy children x100
