Afternoon all - finally back home again, I have very itchy feet ...
Eldest son is 27 today   So for about a month there is only a year between eldest child and eldest son
(yes I started very early, I was a child bride :rotfl:)
Him and his lovely GF opened some of the bigger presents this morning as they were too big to take with them. He got her a very pretty picnic basket - something she said she really wanted and it was mentioned a few times - when eldest son was here one weekend there was a link came up on the darkside so he ordered it to be delivered home and I wrapped the huge box so it went home with them after the weekend they came for Christmas dinner
They are at Brum airport now about to fly out to Frankfurt for Christmas en route for Gfs family - GF has a vast extended family who all live in one very small town
Eldest son has not been home for Christmas for years apart from 2015. As soon as he got his first posting he went out to Cyprus and he was out there 3 years plus one Christmas he was in Kabul. Last year was his first family Christmas for years - they had a holiday in Japan last December so he was in Osaka for his birthday last year.
Also today is our wedding anniversary :T“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
Afternoon all.
Mhoc, Happy Wedding Anniversary.
Have finally done some amex spends...a bit late to the game0 -
Superdrug this morning to get all 3 C&G baby foods for food bank donation. I hadn't read anything of choosing one of the offers. They aren't set up like that on my CoS and the terms don't mention it either so fingers crossed. Carted the heavy bags down to Santander to donate a few small toys and they rewarded me with gold coins. Sadly (or not) they're chocolate
.
Went to a patisserie / coffee shop earlier for a nice lunch & some bread. Just over £10 taken and then they say they don't take amex....by order of head office (a small chain). Too late by then - the machine was happy.
Came home to find a shop small success email so an odd one. Blipped for a £10 win too.
This worried me about doing the cafe and restaurant food shops because you don't pay your bill until after you have ordered - Ive a purple Sainsbobs amex so at first glance it is not an obvious Amex card“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -
13 dozen!!! feeding an army?:rotfl:
Almost.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: My lot will only eat HM ones, I don't mind but I don't eat either.
Even my DGC prefer them. My 3yo DGS was bought a sausage roll from a bakers. He took a bite and gave it to his Dad, saying that's not a sausage roll, it's not like Nannys, you can have it.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Amex shops were a success and OH collected me after my walk as I did buy some lovely flowering hellebores in jars in the greengrocers using 2 cards for the purchase.
Fishmonger also proved good for a lovely selection of fish pate and bits for this evening
Bud's are chilling in the fridge and that can only mean one thing....DS is on his way...OH has just left to collect him from the station...it seems to have been a long 5 weeks since we last saw him!frugal October...£41.82 of £40 food shopping spend for the 2 of us!
2017 toiletries challenge 179 out 145 in ...£18.64 spend0
