We have been playing small shops all day.

I rung the butchers yesterday and I asked them to make me an order up of £10 of chicken breasts all in their own bags so these were all ready for when I went in.
Then we went to the deli and got £10 of sausages - these chicken breast and the sausages were frozen down as soon as we got home
Then as we were half way there we went to a nursery which also had a butchers counter and there I asked for £10 of belly pork strips. When I came to pay for them though, even though it took my pin the payment was declined so I abandoned the shop - email sent to Amex and fingers crossed for £5 in compensation.

So then we went home to regroup before setting off again to another farm shop, this was one we had never been to before, didn't even know it was there even though it was only 5 miles away, very pretty shop which now has a housing estate built around it. There we managed to get OHs £10 of belly pork strips - OH extremely happy about this :)
This little village, small town now really also has an Asda so I got the £1 Presidents butter using my small wombled APGs
I then realised that we were in the wrong place for One Stop so we set off again across country - 2 packs of Andrex and 2 Loyd Grossman pasta jars total £10 - thank you the OPs from yesterday
Then we finished off at Waitrose - got the ice cream, newspapers and lovely free coffee - and discovered a free car park :)

Amex shops were a success and OH collected me after my walk as I did buy some lovely flowering hellebores in jars in the greengrocers using 2 cards for the purchase.

Fishmonger also proved good for a lovely selection of fish pate and bits for this evening

Bud's are chilling in the fridge and that can only mean one thing....DS is on his way...OH has just left to collect him from the station...it seems to have been a long 5 weeks since we last saw him!

The best bit is collecting them from the station - we have been doing the station run now for almost 10 years since eldest child went to uni
The worst bit is when you have to take them back to the station again - even though they might have driven you bats inbetween times it always seems a bit empty and sad when they set off again ...

Where is the grated cheddar - nothing nicer than a plate of really hot and salty stick chips covered in cheese :j

  • I did my good deed for today :AI nipped into body shop with the £5 off no minimum spend voucher from last weeks Sunday Mail.

Whilst in there, there was a man shopping, looking at expensive gift sets, I asked him if he was spending over £25, he laughed and said most proberly looking at these prices, so I gave him the £10 of £25 spend voucher, he was very happy :T
I, not events, have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it. :)

Does everyone know about posh Judes ice cream on Shopimum - £2 back on 4 flavours???
Valid for the next 6 days and even better they are on offer - £3 in Sainsbobs and Waitrose - if you go via Waitrose FB you can find out if your store stocks it

Ours is just a little Waitrose but it had 3 flavours - Vanilla, salted caramel and brown butter pecan. There is another version on the list but our store had a skinny version instead.
There was no u&g sadly so no option to get overage
We bought the 3 versions plus Times and Coffee - OH had the Telegraph and 3 ice creams. After cashback these work out at £1 each - bargain
on both transaction we got till spits £8 wys £40 so I gave one to the person behind in the queue and I then had to do a bit of a store search to find someone else with a trolley load

I wonder if I got the till spits because I had over £10 or if one was coming out with each Waitrose card ...

Mhoc. I don't know if your figures are correct with Shopmium Mine says try for £2 so I thought you would only get £1 back Shopitize also had £1.50 off just one. We only have one account now can't be bothered resurrecting dh's

Three 1stops used so far - only received an email from one  and that wasn't on the map last year.

What a shambles ... so many businesses and customers missing out due to not replying or map being inaccurate,

It made me wonder as the town I was in this morning was full of independent shops including 2 wine shops - I wondered if it was worth risking going in and asking them about amex - the sort of places were wine is £10 a bottle minimum
Ive not seen the shop small or amex sticker in any windows anywhere
