Out of the blue this morning I had a telephone call from Watchdog....It was a return call about my expired HoF gift card I emailed them about.....It would appear that they are going to run a story about it on their programme...The very nice lady I spoke to said they were going to run a story about it and may quote me...
I may have lost my £20 gift card but I may get my £20 pounds worth out of HoF yet....It would be worth them getting a bit of negative publicity and loss of gift card sales just for their bad customer service.....:rotfl::rotfl:
This was in the paper a few days ago...Interesting read

There you go, a bit of light relief from yesterdays Baileys commercial shoot. Much prefer abstract macro to commercial. (You can get way with a lot
)
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

I got all excited when our 2 JL mailings arrived today....3 vouchers for free drink and cake in each mailing.....then I noticed two of them are for specific stores..1 to use in Chelmsford...oh yes thats useful (not) I live in Kent not Essex lol... and 1 to use in Oxford Street...erm...not planning to go to London anytime soon. Never mind, I will put them in the paper recycling bin...such a waste.
Hi juju, I was in Chelmsford a few weeks ago and went in JL. It has only been open a couple of months so perhaps that's why they have sent you a voucher for that store in the hope of getting more customers into a new store.
Good morning everyone
cjj hope the new job goes well0 -

I got my JL mailings just now as well. Looks like I got exactly the same vouchers! Ones in Chelmsford and London are no good to me, as I also live in Kent.:hello: My husband has JL card but he hasn't received any mailings for a long time. Oddly, it's hubby's card that we use when we shop instore (lots of small shops). My card is used mostly for online shopping for dearer items like electricals.0 -
I had an interesting encounter at Mr T yesterday. I remembered I had a couple of conditional spends if I spent £30.00 ( well one my my son in laws he gave me) so I popped in and got a few groceries and threated myself to a new iron ( mine is on its last legs). I left the store and went to my car and realised I hadnt picked up my receipt. I went back in and went to the young man on self service and asked if hed seen it. He was very cagey and said it had been thrown in the bin and then picked up the bin and I said well it was only 2 minutes ago must be on the top. So he shook the bin and said oh no all the screwed up ones fall to the bottom? Then he got on his head phones to call the supervisor and said something like " That lady has come back in for her receipt. you know that one ( meaning me) " which I thought odd and then he took the bin and walked across to the other till and made another call to her that I coudnt hear. He didnt make any attempt to look for the receipt and then the supervisor walked accross with the receipt and said she had put it in the bin at the other end of the store. She gave it to me and I said thanks but I have always had a problem with her since she removed some reduced goods from my disabled friends basket and I told her off.
Then her and him both turned away as if they didnt want to meet my gaze. I was really upset as it was obvious they had been discussing me but couldnt hang around as I had to go to a christingle service.
Should I complain or just leave it??
Rose, I would say let it go - if you don't want to raise your profile, however as your profile is already raised COMPLAIN to head office. Phone them and explain how upsetting it was for you to hear them talking about you as "that lady" making it obvious they had been discussing you and how they made you feel like a criminal when your only crime was to forget your receipt, lay it on thick and tell the head office person that you want the people in question spoken to. You should also mention that you have been made to feel awkward by the same person before and you usually go to a store that is further away to avoid that person but this has made you feel like avoiding shopping in toscos ever again. How dare they.I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.
I've joined the 5:2 club cos mrT made me eat 1p chocolate.0
