Hmm good idea. its the gas meter, its so low down. DH has serious copd and cant bend for long and I have arthiritis of the spine so cant bend for long. What a pair we are :rotfl:

Hi Gocat, I had the same trouble with my gas meter, it was on the floor and tilted forward so I had to kneel on the floor and put my head almost on the floor to read it, and then I had such trouble getting back up again. I am with first utility and have smart meters but the gas meter reader stopped working and when they repeatedly asked me for a meter reading I told them they would have to come and read it themselves as I couldnt due to back trouble and other things and they offered to move it for me, of course I jumped at the chance as now have a much smaller meter high up on the wall and lots more room for (mostly) junk under the stairs They made a hole in the wall that went through to my downstars loo but they sent someone to fill it and repaint the wall, so all ended well. Tell them you cant read it yourself due to its placement and there is noone else to do it and see what they say.

Nowhere near. They should be giving 35p more for the Chicken Hot Dogs and about 14 or 15p for the Cucumbers.

Typical that I bought some water in Lidl the other day as I wasn't going to be shopping in A against T very soon. However, they will get used up and won't need to buy any for further time now. Also, I suppose it's good to have variation and different sources, especially on something like water, as don't want to be getting the same mineral composition time after time - also Lidl's version is a spring water whereas A's is tapped Yorkshire water (which they then filter again, probably unnecessary).

Having to get different items as printer on the scales in my store not working:(.

I even managed to get the Ginger to compare 3p vs 2p for T despite being more expensive in T. Should be 2.5p vs 2.7p. However, no use as the carrots round up:(. The 'problem' there is that I got 0.045g but the APG 'sees' only two decimal places so it calculates at 0.05g. However, 0.045x 60p per kg for T = 2.7p so would round up to 3p (although it 'should' round down in order to ensure it is at least 10% cheaper?). Had I got 0.05g though, I would have had 0.05gx 50p per kg on the receipt in A = 2.5p so would have rounded up and paid 3p in the first place. In any event, it actually 'wins' as ten per cent off 3p is 2.7p and then rounds down to 2p anyway. This is because of how the final digit of the shop bill for T ends - at 0.9p:D, when divided by 10, so gives a penny there - similar to what happens on bubb's comp. against M.

I ended up with a complete set of items against T - I didn't think they had the Lemon Flavour bar?

There is one item that doesn't compare against M - apparently M don't have loose ginger:
0.01x ASDA Grower's Selection Loose Ginger (PER KG) £0.03 N/A

Price collection agency again with their fruit and veg.:( (or rather failure of their system to pick up all fruit and veg.).
  • Buy at M, cost £6.50, claim £3.50 from SM, £2 from COS

    Net Cost £1
