what about ones made from bamboo - have a look on Amazon.
I suppose if they are on someones wish list then thats exactly what they want but if you go for something unusual it at least shows you have upgraded the gift a bit :)
If they are sports socks, what about ordering from sockersports/sports direct..... they have some good names, and really are disposable price (which for sports socks it is what you need!)

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll take a look. He's been known to put his toes through the end in one use, and there are no sports shops around there so a good supply would probably be appreciated. I've actually finished all my shopping for him, but somehow I've been charged with getting presents on behalf of other family members too! I should be charging personal shopper fees :rotfl:

Usually DH goes out for a bit of a womble on his bike after Sunday lunch. Today we've both been asleep in front of the tv for the last couple of hours  Must have overdone it on the alcohol front :o
Yesterday I got a bottle of Pouilly Fum!e on the double up which I thought would be nice to have sometime over the Christmas period so I hid it in the lower depths of the wine rack. DH generally picks what we'll have with Sunday lunch and he managed to sniff it straight out so it's gone now :rotfl:

The call you don't want DD2 in tears when you know she is meant to be in the middle of driving back on the motorway.

She had a tyre blow out on M1, she is really shaken. Thankfully RAC got to her within half hour. But I'm nervous now until I hear she is back to Stafford safe.

We drove car up to her yesterday after the mot repairs, and she dropped us to Stafford station and then over to Northampton to stay with a friend. She is not having much luck lately. :(

Thanks HG, I'm bit shaky myself now she is back on the road. Her breakdown is included with her insurance, and she didn't have the number with, you know those things you tell them they should do and they don't....

So I had to deal with it this end with old paperwork I found of her car insurance and ring the number you ring to report a claim as that was the only one open on a Sunday evening.

She phoned to say car was making funny noise and we thought it was something to do with the repairs just done, exhaust etc. Anyway she started it again and then no noise so set off again and then the tearful phone call. :(
