Waitrose have some very nice dark wooden wine box with space for 4 bottles - good solid box for £5 - if you have u&g MOC overage it might help. I am thinking that these might be good if you have a friend who like say New Zealand wine or rjoca you could put in 4 different bottles - twine mystery or sainsburys 25% off or double up wine maybe ....

The similar very flimsy wicker version in Aldi was much dearer - about £6.99 and I think it only held 2 bottles

Poundshop today - some very nice jute Christmas bags, a black bauble made out of Christmas words, looks very classy and it would be good as a Christmas goody bag, not too big.
Also very cute square shortbread tins with 2 packs inside, a good top up gift - look far more expensive than they are.
I have an obsession with tins :)

Gets me how stock from one poundland to another can differ. There's one quite near me where, according to the staff, the manager sits on the computer most of the day flicking through the stock he is able to order for the shop and grabs loads. He gets the most fabulous stuff I've not seen in any other Poundland.

Seen the Thorntons Christmas biscuits in a few stores

    Yes...the same pair.

last year I opted for a rather expensive but very pretty vase and a candle from a rather nice labelled shop....so I guess both those options are out this year.

they want for nothing so present wise it probably is frivolous or or quirky I need.

I did the picture and alcohol presents for their birthdays this year and have also recently done the expensive bath type products from molton

A few years back I went through the eating type presents and have done things like afternoon teas and meals out till I feel they can eat no more!

they split the time between 2 properties both of which have lovely manicured gardens...down to the gardener so even something like a sundial or plant have all been accommodated in the past...

    Budget probably up to £100
...and if you're all still reading I welcome any suggestions

See I would love to do something like this ...our mum passed away as a result of dementia a few years ago and also there are so many other charities that have touched us in the last couple of years who could really benefit from a donation....
...but my sister is so adamant that it's the one time in the year to actually exchange a gift....

One day maybe she might come round to a different way of thinking but it's sadly not this year.
