    :)

At the moment - without rail cards - it would be £322 return for all 7 (£46 each)

its funny how we all get different results. I was looking at trainline to start with and getting about £14 each way with railcards ...

are you looking at Arriva trains website?

I noticed London Midland website the other day the prices and trains were different to what was on trainline. In the end we went to the ticket office and let them sort it out and they found cheaper prices than I found

I would say mhoc is our train travel expert ;):p other than using club card vouchers with rsh

I know routes but I know little about pricing and railcards and things like peak and off peak times and the nitty gritty stuff

I believe they can be used on certain train journeys too . Can t wait to find out . My trips to Liverpool may be cheaper :)

also if anyone did the Handmade burger survey a few weeks back where we were promised a burger voucher these have now started arriving.

They are valid for all of July :j

but I suspect that inevitably someone on 10 ways will take the p**** and go in with 20 mates and all order burgers and nothing else and do this every day for a month and then the vouchers will get pulled ...

I am not a burger eater but there are 30 versions so there must be something I could eat.

locations - none in Liverpool sadly

there does seem to be one in Brindley place next to the canal in Birmingham and close to piture and piano (free drink emails)

also these 2 look close together in Leeds

Southampton has one in West Quay to the fortunate few who are cruising this month :)

During the couple of days I've had this week between the monsoon showers I've been pulling up the dead forget me knots and planting up the B & Q sale plants from the weekend. so for my troubles I've been bitten by nasties, one on the leg and a cluster of 4 on the wrist just under the typing hand :( I think I need to spray on some of the cats Aloe vera

also for some reason I've developed a dry forehead - skin feels scaly and dry and stretched - not changed any of my other skin creams or shampoos etc.
So I need to pin the fringe back off the forehead and see if I can find any of eldest childs skin creams - she has psoriasis, some creams suit her and others don't - eg simple is no good and olay is too perfumed but her skin is tolerating the new Body Shop oils of life .

I can recommend Camolmine (SP) lotion. You know the pink stuff used for chicken pox. I suffer very badly from dry forehead and I use this like a face mask 3 times a week. It's strange as you feel it should dry the skin out further but it does just the opposite.

Anyone know anything about zero hour contracts. Pleas . Ds 3 done 200 hours in a month and they have not paid him supervisor says it's a month in hand but that's a lot of money to not have for him and he may not do hardly any hours this month. So it seems they got him to work as much as possible as they knew they where not paying him. No one mentioned it until after he asked dies not seem right thanks xxx

What do you mean by 'a month in hand' ?

We do zero hours contracts where I work, because we can't guarantee a level of work to staff. However, whatever hours someone works they are entitled to be and are paid for, and they accrue holiday pro-rata to what they have worked.

No reason to not pay your DS3 - if he has worked he is legally entitled to be paid !!

The only thing would be how regularly they pay (weekly or monthly) and when they have a cut-off date after which those hours would be paid the following month.

In our place, cut-off is the Sunday around the 20th month, to allow for payroll to work everything out and submit to the bank etc. Anything worked after that date is paid in the next payroll, but is still paid ...

do they have young persons railpasses?

    http://www.16-25railcard.co.uk/online10/?utm_medium=cpc&gclid=CMPz2uD4z80CFQPgGwodh1kNAA&gclsrc=aw.ds

    or a 2 together card

    http://www.twotogether-railcard.co.uk/?source=portal

Nearly always cheaper to book 2 singles outwards and return tickets but these are for set specific services

looking on trainline I can see trains that go direct from brum new Street to Portmadog - no changes

    July 15th 8.25 gets in at 12.56 for £14.20
    10.25 is £12.20 - these are using a railcard

coming back on a Friday is always going to be an issue, limited tickets but they seem to be about £14.40.

its Virgin trains so you might do better actually going to a mainline station which is a Virgin station - they tend to open until 7.30 at night - you also don't then get charged any booking fees

so about £29 with a rail card which they have to have with them and it will be checked

No, none of them have rail cards , it's going to be a one off travel, just having few days at our house in Wales, I must be mad letting 7 boys go:eek:
It is hotter than the temperature if you know what I mean. If you don't like the heat then don't go. It was the hottest we have been, and we have been to some hot places.

Yes I know what u mean.

You do have a house in Porthmadog Sarah?

If so your son can get a Cambrian Rail Card (needs proof of postcode on a bill) - costs £5 & is valid from Shrewsbury to Porthmadog - knocking a third off his travel.
But this doesn't help the others :(

    Student rail cards?

Thanks, think they are all wanting to buy separate tickets aswell.

OMG, I thought it was just me with peculiar skin :D

    http://www.mysupermarket.co.uk/sainsburys-price-comparison/First_Aid/ASDA_Calamine_Lotion_200ml.html

the old fashioned calamile lotion :D who would have thought - so apply like a face mask before the bath and then wash it off afterwards?

I still use sudocream - good for belly button rashes and the bath has baby bath in. I am also using the very thick nappy cream on my dry elbows :D

Can anyone help with train tickets.

My Son and 6 friends are wanting to travel from Birmingham to Porthmadog, on 12 July until 15 July. They are 16

Can anyone help find me the cheapest train tickets.

    Thanks.
Sarah, I know very little about rail fares, but always worth looking at group save, when 3 or more adults travel together (I assume at 16, they will be classed as adults?)
