    Emerald, may I ask - Is this for use on all buses around the country? I was told I can't apply for this until I am old enough to receive my state pension which will be when I am 65 and a half. If that is not correct I should be able to get it now. I do have a London Oyster card so can travel around London for free.

    I was told the same - cant apply until the state pension kicks in so not only have a been cruelly robbed after a life time of servitude of
    52 weeks x £115 (or whatever the weekly rate is) x 7 years or whatever they decide to increase it to by the time I get there.

    but also the bus passes will probably be phased out by then so that's at least one return trip into town at about
    £6 a time x 52 x 7 :mad:

    Evening, the single pepperonis, claim 5 with 50p cashback on each from cos, are only 50p in Sainsbobs = free. (so pleased my maths has improved)

    If you live in England or Wales
    In England you can get a bus pass for free travel when you reach the female State Pension age, whether you’re a man or a woman.

    If you live in London, you can travel free on buses, tubes and other transport when you’re 60, but only within London.

    In Wales you can get a bus pass when you reach 60.

    Enter your postcode to:

    apply for a bus pass from your local council
    check if you can get one sooner

    It depends on your local council as to when you can have a bus pass.

    My council gives them out at age 60, not when you receive your pension.:D
