    Good afternoon everyone...Hope you are all well...squigs..I think I saw something that you were not in good health...Hope all is well with you....Not had much time lately to read posts...

    My son has not been well since returning from Uganda....Unfortunately he was not registered locally with a Dr..I took him but they sent him away telling him that they only register in the mornings and that he would have to go to a walk in centre...Did that and they checked him out...said all was normal...

    Advised to go back to GP...Got him registered on a Friday but they wouldn't see him...He had to phone back on the following Monday.....Grrrrr....protocols I suppose...Over the weekend he was sick and nose bleeds...NHS 111 in the morning......They told me to take him to casualty at a cottage hospital to see a Dr....He took a list of his symptoms which to me sounded like Malaria.....They checked him over took a blood sample...told him everything was normal.....

    Few days later still unwell.....Got in to see a GP who diagnosed Malaria...Had to take him straight to Hospital for tests......more blood taken and withing half an hour confirmed he had the disease....

    I have him home now...on a course of tablets....At least I get to play nurse with him...As well as all my other duties of fetch/carry...cook/cleaner and chief bottle washer...I know you ladies have this to do all the time...:rotfl::rotfl:..I'm not complaning...

    Apart from that all is well....:wave::wave:

    Marmite I'm so very sorry to hear that your son has malaria :eek: how long does this usually last? Trusting that now son has been diagnosed and has tablets, he'll be on the road to recovery very soon X
    There's no place like home :)

    Feeling down? Weak in body? Makes no difference to me, I think of you all when I'm sitting quietly.

    Hugs and healing thoughts are always going your way.

    :j had phone call from optician that my glasses are ready to collect. Unfortunately due to my outing this morning I'm out of breath and have awful back ache :o.

    I think the pleurisy is making me feel tired if I do too much, right now I feel I could drop to the floor and sleep :eek:

    Why doesn't my dh have any inclination to drive, never has wanted to and now probably never will :mad:

    Glasses can be collected tomorrow morning :D

    [QUOTE=mhoc;
    also specialist says the arthritis is connected to psoriasis (which we have always assumed he has had but no doc has every mentioned) - don't understand this bit at all - a skin condition and a joint condition connected?
    eldest child has always had psoriasis - mostly stress related and usually under control with no issues and lots of unctions and creams[/QUOTE]

    Mhoc, my sister has Psoriatic arthritis. It is a really nasty disease, very similar to rheumatoid arthritis. She has to take medication to control it, so there is a definite link.

    Good afternoon Elite.
