Tooth still sore, though not so bad as during the night. I think it's actually my gum. I have a bit of a wisdom tooth where it hurts which I think occasionally shifts and comes through a bit more, so rather like a baby teeething. It will probably settle in a day or two but if not I have a check up next week anyway so will mention it then.
Finally went to sleep around 4am. Woken about half an hour later by Jasmine doing that kitty kneading thing on my legs. Then marching to and fro on my pillow with her feet through my hair, all accompanied by high volume purring. Finally she settled down for a groom - right by my head so all I could hear was lick, lick, lick. Kindly washed my face a couple of times too lol. Now of course she is fast asleep.
Should be at Luton airport at the moment but DH went by himself so I could get a bit of rest. He's collecting his cousin's son plus girlfriend who are spending a few days in London. The son was one of those adorable chubby babies you could just eat. He's 26 now, just back from peacekeeping duties in Syria and the Lebanon and about to start his police training. Where do the years go?
When friends have babies, I always tell them to enjoy every moment as you will blink and they will be leaving home!
Sadly the little monsters flipping return!!!100 -

Currently looking for cheap bankers boxes, or perhaps something a little larger, I have been quite shocked at the prices. We need to put a batch of DDs stuff in the attic but the boxes she has put stuff in are just too large and too heavy to get up there (and back down) comfortably. Any ideas please?Didnt even know what a bankers box was:rotfl: just googled, cant you get some smaller boxes from supermarket?
I find Homebase and Ikea both good for these. But what about Tesco... use the Hipp and cheap comparables... for very cheap boxes.
I am stocking up on lunch boxes!

You can get plastic boxes that have good seals that are around this size... so the items don't get dusty.100 -

Or what about photocopy boxes (for smaller items) normally free from the office!100 -

Dust is not a concern. Everything will need cleaning anyway, and anything that needs protecting is packaged.I dont mean buy , i mean boxes that stock come in
I know, our local supermarkets rarely put them out.
Might take a trip down Costco, but often their boxes are just too big.
I seriously expected bankers boxes to be cheaper, they are only cardboard! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

I am trying to figure out a new credit card (with the end of Diamond... I also have points from Diamond that I have never used.... it would be nice to use them), whether I look for avois to add to the diamond (now BAE) or cashback... I am edging towards avois only because loads of people appear to love them... so I am assuming I just need to learn more about them (I keep reading head for points...but it is rather confusing). x
It's a lot to get your head around.hornetgirl wrote: »The best way to use avios is on a long haul flight in a premium cabin, not an economy one, which is very poor value as you have found. Is there any way you can up the number of avios points you have? Have a look at the Head for Points websites for ideas. We collect most of ours by using Amex for as much as we possibly can. We also churn cards - I have one, refer DH for one, cancel mine. Six months later he refers me for one, cancels his and so on. That way you keep getting sign up bonuses.
I agree with long haul premium being the best use. Also, last minute reward flights within Europe can work out well. I got a last minute trip to Copenhagen for 9,000 Avios + £35, when the ££ fare was over £250 as it was so near to going.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
